Titan melees prioritising uncharged melee, thunderclap unreliable.

The Titan melees constantly use the uncharged melee if an enemy is close, making use of thunderclap impossible at times especially with enemies that rush you. I play on controller so i'm not sure if its the same on mnk but i feel this is major issue with the kit.

  • The stasis melee does this as well. You'd think you could USE A CHARGED MELEE AT CLOSE RANGE but bungie logic I guess

Pressing the input when your melee ability is not fully charged will perform no action and cause the melee-ability icon to flash red, similar to how the grenade ability works. It’s fairly straightforward, but here are some things to note: - Melee attacks trigger as soon as the button is pressed, not when it’s released. This means you can’t set any of the melee actions to a long-press or double-press input. - Game controllers have a limited number of inputs, so you may need to get creative with how you map your controls. Personally, I like to put charged melee on RB/R2 and uncharged melee on right-stick click/R3. This doubles up the Finisher and Uncharged-Melee actions on right-stick click/R3, which will prioritize finishing enemies over melee-ing them if the enemy is in a finish-able state. - If you assign charged melee and uncharged melee to the same input, it will always prioritize the charged melee over the uncharged melee, which is the opposite behavior of the auto-melee action.       I was really looking forward to build crafting the thuderclap but with this bug its just not worth it as it is so unpredictable with the range of knockout thrown into the mix. This should work like hammer titans. I hope they fix this.

      This! this is so incredibly infuriating and has made me stop using thunderclap. Even though i have separately Bound Charged and Uncharged melee to different key binds. when i press charged melee it still uses uncharged when using thunderclap. Please bungie take note of this.

    • I’ve been looking straight down and to use thunderclap in close range for pvp might help with pve. It still fires straight doesn’t go into ground

    • this is also an issue with Shiver Strike for Behemoth. Been a problem since Stasis was released too, so not a lot of hope bungo will actually bother fixing this. probably an issue with the core of how those charged melee's are built.

      and when u wanna use synthoceps it just gets worse. The melee is so sick but u cant use it in a dense crowd cuz then u just track everything with the uncharged melee. What a shame (its the same on MnK)

    • Yeah this happens even with using the charged melee only keybind, whether or not you hold down the button, it always uses uncharged melee instead if an enemy is in lunge range. It's even worse when you have the knockout aspect since it makes your lunge range really high.

    • Also happens to me I have charged melee and uncharged bind to different slots and it still does :(
