First off, I’m not saying that hunters or titans are busted and need a nerf cause they don’t. Their updates were needed and I’m happy for those changes to have been made.
Alrighty, here we go. :)
There is a difference between something that is fun to use in basic content and something that is useless in anything challenging. Arc 3.0 for warlocks is fun in patrols, strikes, crucible, gambit and seasonal activities. However, in its current state it is not viable at all in endgame PVE content, the thing this game truly revolves around.
We have arrived at the point where certain enemy types tank an entire landfall/storm trance super without dying, like wyverns, taken knights and Minotaurs. Landfall has been nerfed, because it no longer destroys a titans bubble in one go. You have to use landfall, the rest of the supers duration and a couple shotgun rounds to completely break a bubble. That’s just in pvp… in pve, the damage output/survivability is just awful compared to void or solar (if you use starfire protocol).
Chaos reach in theory is a good super design, but it’s pretty useless. Sure, with geomags you can reach an overall damage number similar to that of a curass thundercrash titan, but chaos reach takes almost ten seconds with geomags… thundercrash, blade barrage, mobius quiver etc. all take 1 second or more to use to achieve the same damage. A damage phase is crucial to succeeding in challenging content, so using a super and switching to weapon dps is vital. You can’t really do that with chaos reach in most dps phases, since chaos reach takes up the whole phase most of the time (save a few encounters).
Arc is the least played subclass because it is the least potent of all other subclasses. It needed change, and they brought those changes to hunters and titans -blam!- needed them, but for some reason did not truly update the kit of warlocks for arc. It’s the same abilities, save one new melee… the update for warlocks isn’t a true update, it was a reshuffling of what we already had, and what we already had was underwhelming.
I am happy that hunters and titans got the updates they needed! :) I’m just sad that warlocks “seemingly” were an afterthought with no real effort given to make their subclass kit better.

I mean, every subclass has its pros and cons but Warlock Arc is finally fun again
