We all remember the Infinite Forest right? The one on Mercury that was used for strikes and adventures and horribly built upon except for the Festival of the Lost activity. What if it came back as an Infinite Dungeon?
Hear me out. Each branch, similar to the Festival of the Lost Activity, gets progressively harder. The further you get, the better loot you get. Starts dropping at Powerful Tier 1 All the way up to Pinnacle, Artificer Armor, Ascendant Shards, et cetera. There's no time limit. You go either until you wipe or you leave by your own choice.
And since its the Infinite Forest, there's no end. It just keeps getting harder and harder, but doable still, all the while the loot never runs out. There would be no "Engram achieved" or "Pinnacle Complete" just more and more the further you get.
There's a lot of room, each branch has a new or additional modifier. Add bosses with mechanics, Reuse bosses with mechanics (it is a simulation after all). Increase power lever. Limit ammo drops, restrict weapon usage. Then it cycles every branch or every few branches keeping it a dynamic experience. New every time you play it. All Bungie needs is a bunch of pieces that can be put together in random sequence to do that (I'm not going to try and understand how difficult that will be though, I imagine it will quite difficult, so maybe controlled randomness?)
What do you think? Should this be how the Infinite Forest returns from the DCV?

YES, but Taniks should be that main boss. Taniks, Scarred of the Forest. LOL
