This is just a draft I have been putting together after discussing about clan and fire team stuff for a while now under radar.

This is just something that Explores new things for clans. If you have any suggestions, want to add or even just discuss feel free that is one of the reasons I am posting it here.

Okay this is focused on clans.
Clans seem kinda meh at this point most just join for banner flags and low tier rewards. Although some join for community and fireteam purpose.

In-depth,
Destinations would have a series of challenges to be completed by the fireteam of 12.
These challenges would be different than public events but wouldn't be exactly strikes because they take place within the destination map public space without the -blam!-. Similar to strike nightfall settings you can choose a difficulty you want to face together. Limited revives depending on difficulty selected. You face each challenge but can your clan complete them all or will they fail one or two of them
The competitive aspect
Taking gambit to different level without the **motes and portals. This places 2 clan fireteams of 12 in the destination. A competitive race each having different challenge series but there is a big catch. Team friendly fire is on and player versus player is enabled (revives limited depending on difficulty selected). Each challenged is timed you either fail or complete and move on to next one. (avoids just pvp firefight mode player/team grieving). You can however risk failing challenge by trying to make other team fail with the pvp mode enabled.
Win situations
Team 1 completed all the challenges but finished last with longer time
Team 2 failed one challenge but finished first with less time.
Team 1 gets win for completing all challenges
Both teams complete all challenges
Team with less time gets win.
The set up
Each destination has unique wargames staging area where the clans are transmatted to. Hawthorn and destination vendor are present and have a brief meeting for clans, when both arrive. After debriefing the clans are transmatted to different destination locations depending on their challenge series objectives which will be listed by pulling up ghost and tracking the objective. The moment a clan finishes the challenge series they are transmatted back to staging area, while the other clan finishes and then they are transmatted to staging area. Hawthorn and Vendor and discuss the clan adventure, present reward chests.
*Dedicated server
This is more experimental, may increase reliability and keep AI consistent instead of relying on peer to peer connections which do present issues for other players depending on areas and isp pings. This way when devices connect to the dedicated server is becomes more of your connection and your device. So an original xbox one isn't hosting peer to peer event for xbox series x, playstation 4/5, stadia and PC, instead the dedicated server is host that each connect to.
**Motes
Depending on challenge motes may play a roll in clan challenge task.
Other
Not sure how much time to have in wargames destination staging area for when clans complete, but yeah both clans in same area during that last bit of time. Maybe a secret mini game for them all to participate in (tether 24 to connect diamonds for fireworks idk) something silly. It might bring a camaraderie between clans instead of disrespecting each other toxically.
The clan only option non-competitive would have same staging area without the silly secret thing.
Time trials triumphs among others maybe a possible seal.
Grandmaster version not sure if good idea but is a possibility

Personally think stuff like this would give more meaning to what it is to be a clan.

To this day, clans are a grafted-on "feature" of D2 that has never been anything more than free pinnacle loot from Hawthorne. They're more of an afterthought and a "Wow, I bet clans will sound cool to add!" than a real, valuable part of D2.
