It’s the sad reality that I don’t even enjoy using void 3.0 warlock or Hunter solar 3.0 when aspects like chaos accelerant or gunpowder gamble for example offer 1 fragment slot. Imo it’s pretty boring to restrict gameplay like this since I just want to avoid these aspects because I won’t be able live up to build crafting potential.
I just think that if most aspects offered 2 slots and some still with 3 I would get to enjoy building into them a lot more without feeling so restricted on what fragments I want to use.
-
Agreed. It kills the freedom to play how you want to avoid balancing properly.
-
i'd be fine with chaos accelerant only having a single fragment slot if you could overcharge every grenade, and give scatter nades a different overcharge effect caues otherwise nothing manacles are useless
-
the 1 fragment slot aspects always confused me, like i get its supposed to nerf stronger aspects but at times it just nerfs weaker aspects and makes the stronger ones just more enticing
-
Edited by fangfireskull: 7/27/2022 11:22:21 PMThe concept that "less fragments slots means the aspect is more powerful" kinda got thrown our the window when they nerfed the stasis aspects. This was also futher proved by the nerf to some of the void aspects. I really only play titan, but honestly Bastion gives a 45hp shield, meanwhile the offensive bulwark, makes OV regen grenades faster, make noncharged melee do void damage, and melee kills extend OV, as well as give a second throw to the super. And offensive bulwark has two fragments slots. It feels random at this point
-
So buff Cryoclasm and Shatter Dive to 2 fragment slots? I personally think that they should do this, but people are still shell shocked from stasis. So the knee jerk reaction will be no.
-
It’s an attempt to balance, limit the power somewhat.
-
yeah, want gunpowder gamble to have 3 instead of on your mark. i need those stat bonuses for my triple 100 build.
-
Edited by Why is this happening?: 7/27/2022 3:23:37 PMThen they would have to be buffed, to be worthy of said requirement. They penalize us enough, so it would probably only get worse. Edited bc I misread something, durrrr durr

My guess is it’s not done arbitrarily, but to preserve some sense of balance. Stronger Aspects get fewer Fragments. The problem is you want it all. You don’t want to have any trade off. That’s not how this game has ever worked and was never how the 3.0 subclass system was going to work. Otherwise there may as well not be any fragments. Every aspect gets all fragments. But why stop there, just combine all aspects into one. Done. Now you’re super powerful, but have no build diversity other than your exotic.
-
Well if the game was about fun it would be... The game is about balance, not fun. And there is a massive valley between "easy accessible content" and "end game try hard paradise content". So either things are embarrassingly easy or trash for basement dwellers. I remember a time when there was good middle ground content that wasn't like waxing your "bikini area" with superglue and sandpaper.
-
You’re surely trolling or clueless. Contraverse hold voidlock is clearly one of the strongest builds there is in this game, even with 4 fragments. Certainly stronger and more effective than Starfire or sunbracer builds.
It’s the sad reality that I don’t even enjoy using void 3.0 warlock or Hunter solar 3.0 when aspects like chaos accelerant or gunpowder gamble for example offer 1 fragment slot.
I think you are not understanding buildcrafting. The amount of slots are in proportion to how powerful the aspect is. Some people on this thread obviously get it. Others lol. ..not so much. My void warlock is one of my most powerful characters. Bungie has crushed it with stasis, void and solar. Aspects are the starting point, mods, weapons and play style play a huge part as well. Enjoy solar titan while it lasts, at the end of the season it won't be as tanky. Look online for builds, ask others and just try it out. You'll see.
-
I also refuse to use fragments that take away from your stats.. just an OCD thing i guess. I've spent so long trying to get the best stats I can.
-
I think they should have whatever number of fragments is needed to balance how good they are. If it's good enough of an aspect, that's just the price you pay. I like having to make choices instead of just going straight, hardcore min/max.
-
I feel players should have no more than 4 slots max for fragments. I find it ridiculous how hunters can get up to 6 slots in solar 3.0.
-
Icarus dash being the best dodge with super short cool down can stay at 1 fragment. Shatterdive as well.
-
They could just actually attempt to balance them instead of compensating with more or less fragment slots.
-
Edited by WulfPak666: 7/26/2022 4:44:36 PMShould just be fair. 4 Aspects The least impactful perk has 3 slots The two middle ground perks have 2 slots The overall best perk has 1 slot *Balanced*
-
Its a matter of tradeoffs. More powerful aspect, less fragments to work with. Of course, thats only in theory, and bungie does need to rebalance a lot of aspects, or their fragment slots, to actually meet that vision, but if things were working as intended i think its fine for some aspects to only have one. If theyre strong enough to make up for it, theyll still be a worthwhile pick anyways.
-
Can Warlock even build to have 5 fragments like Hunters can in solar? I know titans can’t and it annoying because as a Titan main I literally have to decide what goal my build is for and even then I’m forced to leave off a fragment that would make it feel more complete.
-
You have a valid point but I think at one point down the line they will all have only 1. They are already struggling to keep us in check power wise so it wouldn’t be a shocker.
-
I think if it has 1, It should.ve some sort of Combined Skills Aspect. Like it takes say, Phoenix Dive + Icarus Dash + Heat Rises and puts them together. Something like that. Because One would think that the less you have means the stronger the "ability" should be to compensate.
-
Definitely! Should be 2 and 3, and 4 assuming there are 3 different ones.
-
Big facts was just saying that yesterday
-
There are a lot of aspects I never run just because the lack of fragment slots.
