Don't count losses anymore.
I know, I know that's a big statement but after reading a lot of opinions about the game and even having a long think about my own I believe it would be for the best. Hear me out as I try to explain.
Premise: Remove losses from the card so wins add 1 block each time, when you hit 7 you go to the lighthouse and get an adept.
Argument: "So why go flawless at all?"
That's the big question that seems to be the tipping point for most skilled players. If there's no incentive to improve why bother?
Well my answer to this is cosmetics and "flexing" potential. Sure going to the lighthouse whatever way would give the weekly adept, but you could have shaders, animated emblems with unique trackers, ships, sparrows, ghost, ornaments, glows. Any number of things that show the world how good you are without making it a painful experience for the other 99%.
Now I know a lot of top level players go to trials for the challenge and flooding it with lower skill ruins the mode for them.
Well how about a card where you only match other flawless players? So for example rather than a pool that activates based on lighthouse visits or day of the week you can buy a special card after your first flawless lighthouse each week.
This card puts you in a separate pool where you only match teams holding the same type of card. This way people who don't care about the loot can play competitive matches against other players looking for the same all weekend long if they wish too without affecting the general population.
Gen pop gets their adept loot, the better players get their glows and emblems, and the top 1% get their tournament level matches. Everybody wins, nobody loses, and the mode thrives for it.
You can change your playlist at will by picking up your "playlist card" and choose how you wanna play.
Even put the ultra rare emblems as drops for going flawless in the voluntary flawless pool. Really give multiple tiers of desirable in game content for all skill levels.
Terrible players might get 1 adept in 100 games. Good players 1 in 20. Great players 1 in 7 with a shader or emblem, and top players on their flawless playlist cards the rarest emblems and the most exclusive glows.

No need, if it’s supposed to be the best, then all the not best players should stop playing trials, see how long before bungie pulls the plug. I’m guessing 3 weeks
