NOT MY FIRST PAINTING
this was like, the third to last.
I did, like, 4 more before hand.
I took a weekly (weekendly?) oil painting class for the past month, so I've got some stocked up.
One was a figure painting but I don't think I can post that one here... the most clothed one was just wearing underwear and looked like Bree Larson.
Anyways, ducky.
I needed to bring three objects to paint and was going to bring a shell along with the wood and plant, but I forgot about it at home. Thankfully, the instructor had a taxidermied duck among other objects that I could use.
Glad I did cause that was fun to draw.

I will say, mixing paint is tough.
Not as in getting the right colors, I could do that all day, but getting enough shades/tones so I don't end up mixing on the palette.
The shapes of things I think I was accurate with them. I did forget about the shadows on the floor until about halfway into painting the wood.
The wood's brown was easy to see, but I gotta thank my sister for pointing out that the shadows had some purple. After I had a purpley mixture, it started looking like darkness.
The duck basically consisted of two colors and a basic mixture of yellow and darker yellow (I forgot the names already)
The beady eyes, although weren't that shiny, I feel just add to the ducks personality.
Now I did notice that some light bounced off of the duck and back into the wood, so I had to dab some duck duck yellow into the small area over there, and I think it turned out great with the purpleish hue.
The leaves... they were kinna tough since I didn't have that thin of a brush. I painted the leaves with , I think the darkest green I mixed? And then I went over it again with a lighter green. I added a more saturated green in the middle cause that's how it was, and the shadows... yikes
I just copied the shadow lines that I saw, but I didn't really copy the leaves. But I do think they turned out okay.
The wood thing had a golden hanger wire thing too, and at first I just made it two yellow lines, but then realized it also had small shadows as well. So I added a brown to small sections on the wire.
All in all, I think it turned out swell.
yeah, another one. meanwhile I'm still tryna draw my Lord of Funny Fingers Elden Bling, but consorts mask is a nightmare for someone who's bad at eyes.
