Hello. For the time being you can refer to by Tao, and I am comfortable with any and all pronouns. I’ve been playing Destiny since almost the very beginning, since a friend had invited me over to play on a console I didn’t have, when mine couldn’t even handle the internet.
I had heard things about the game; that it was overhyped, a scam, a knock-off WoW wannabe with Halo-esque elements. I was ready to try the game and hate it. That was 8-9 years ago now. I’m almost 20.
You all, from the dev’s and writer’s to the community manager’s (looking at you DMG), and even the office janitorial staff at this point, have my undying, eternal, and I suppose you could say, paracausal thanks. You and your creation have been with me every step of the way, and through some of the hardest things I never thought anyone could go through, let alone me.I’m doing so much better than I was. I’m in a very transitional and creative, but also rocky and treacherous stage of my life. I imagine it must be something close to how those first three spacefaring, proto-guardians must have felt, moments before the greatest discovery in humanity’s history.
My twitter is deactivated for the time being, for my own and other’s sake. I’m safe and well, but if for any, ANY reason someone see’s this (…DMG), that would be enough to make me cry tears of joy I wish a younger version of myself could have had.
Peace, love, and most of all, eye’s up Guardian’s. The future is brighter than I could ever explain to you. Never lose that hope. Sincerely, Tao-4, rogue privateer.
P.S: I would’ve added 7 tags for some kicks n’ giggles, but I reached the maximum 🥲

if you want more people to see this then change the Destiny tag to Destiny2 :)
i loved the letter btw it did the job of conveying your feelings towards the game very well
