I've been grinding the master lost sectors like crazy yesterday and today until I rage quit from frustration with the rewards. What is happening is you will go through, 5-10 minutes (sometimes quicker depending on the lost sector) and you will open the chest. If you see "Rewards: Platinum" at the bottom left of your screen, congrats, you are likely to get an armor piece, if you don't see anything pop up at the bottom left of your screen, screw you, you get glimmer/enhancement core/legendary world drop weapon. For some reason, even if you kill all of the champions in the lost sector, if that dialogue "Rewards: Platinum" does not show up on your screen, you will get nothing. Yesterday I did the master lost sector close to 20 times, and I only got 4 chest pieces. Funny enough, the 4 times I got a chest piece was when the dialogue popped up. Today, I ran the master lost sector 3 times and never had the dialogue pop up, and only got 3 enhancement cores and a world drop grenade launcher. I googled my issue and found a reddit page talking about the issue, and this has been going on since WQ release. Please fix the issue. I shouldn't have to rely on the game working correctly for me to get my "common" rewards.
