Back in Destiny 1 we had a heroic strike playlist that was a bit harder than regular strikes. They were a lot more fun. Reminded me a bit of Spartan Ops from Halo 4.
The feedback from the legendary campaign showed that people do enjoy higher difficulties in Destiny 2. And maybe a "Duality is too hard"-Problem could be avoided if such a playlist existed.
It could serve as Training Ground for future harder content. Doesn't even need additional mechanics or champions. Just higher/fixed level scaling.
We players feel barely powerless (aside of the campaign) and that is one of the reasons why some people complain about difficulties being "too easy" or "too hard". We lack the middle ground, a step on our stairs of difficulty.

I would love this. Challenging content is fun content. One of my favorite aspects of WQ was the legendary campaign. I wish it had continued into the seasonal story missions.
-
We do have it. It's called Nightfalls.
-
What would really be cool is if they brought back all the old strikes and stuff. This game is over 100 gb big and there’s really no reason not to have everything it ever had active at all times. Remove power cap make everything true RNG and let your player base go nuts.

Edited by Divine_Majin93: 6/7/2022 2:29:54 AMPlease, God, no. Please don't urge Bungie towards bullet sponge bosses. The fact that some of ya'll spent God knows how long pecking away at Savathun's enormous health bar with primaries makes me ashamed of what gaming has become.

Strikes are boring and played out to death. I'm good on that unless they delete all they have and add about 10 new ones. This stuff just encourages Bungie to resell us the same content over and over again.
-
can we first get Strike Specific loot ? Strikes are not gonna be more attractive just cause they have a higher level
-
D2 strike or nightfall should have better burn modifier. You can kill thing fast but also can die fast. 25/50 just not enough. 100/300 should be the way forward. You can kill like Rambo but can't be Rambo. D1 has the better system. Plus dedicated loots.
-
So....night falls ?
-
called grandmaster

Bungie could easily avoid "______ is too hard" if they taught the basic raid/dungeon mechanics in story missions or in seasonal activities. Many people learn better in low-pressure environments. There would be less "kwtd" first day LFG posts if players actually had a chance to learn for themselves.
-
I just wish they would either allow people to solo queue, or change the damn bounties so you're not competing with your fireteam....it is such a lame way to play the game and promotes selfish play.
-
Heroic Strikes should be as difficult as adept NFs
-
I do wonder why the nightfalls don't implement a "your max light is X and you will always be Y levels under light level." instead of the light levels they employ now. It could fix their difficulty.
-
This would be great! With matchmaking, of course. I'd be in on this. Good idea.
-
The heroic strikes in d1 weren’t actually hrd if you spec for the burn tho. I’d imagine d2 would just have an easier implementation of that cause ya know, Bungo.
-
Its caled grandmaster nightfalls
-
Sounds a nice idea to me. Thumb up!
-
I wish they would bring back Extinguish for all Nightfall difficulties

And small arms fire
