I remember playing the destiny beta nonstop when it first released in the summer. The following fall I was in 8th grade. Every day I carried around a Destiny magazine with concept art and articles about the upcoming video game (eventually it started falling apart). My best friend and I would marvel at the same images every day.
When the game finally dropped, I mained a Hunter, with my best friend a Titan. Together we played destiny until the Taken King, with our streak ending when I became an upperclassman in highschool, right before rise of iron dropped.
I remember my first VoG run, cheesing the Crota raid, getting my highest kill streak ever on the old moon map in crucible using preadyth’s revenge and going mad trying to collect all of the house of wolves exotics. I also remember running weekly raids and crucible with my old clan. Young and old and from super different backgrounds we had the best conversations.
I opened this app on a whim for the first time in years and found myself wondering if it would be possible to recapture the experience I’ve had before with destiny. I’m a 21 year old college student now and can’t play as much as I used to, but I’d love to relive of some of my childhood.
How much has changed since the taken king?
Is it worth coming back?
Does anyone have advice for finding a new community to game with?
TLDR:
Haven’t played since Destiny 1
Any advice on joining Destiny 2

Gameplay & Mechanics = Exceptional with no equal PVE = OK, you have a good grind ahead of you PVP = Is a trash fire on wheels Raids = MEH with next to no descent loot pools Strikes = Still boring AF Gambit = Don't know cause I don't play it. (Heard it's trash thou.) Story = 6/10 it's ok but just doesn't do it for me. O/A Content = 70% of the game has been removed and nearly nothing in return. Just a time killer and a hobby game now. Nothing more to me. The prestige and uniqueness of getting an exotic is long gone my friend.
