Destiny is in a good state right now.

I think so. The gunplay is satisfying, the story is amazing, and the activities are fun. Sure, there are some small features missing but the game is engaging enough as it is and I can’t wait to see how it improves.

I'm Ambivalent. The things that Bungie has touched since the announcement of Unification of Vision back in the summer of 2019 are in good shape. Arguably the BEST shape they have been in the history of teh franchise. But there are things that Bungie has badly neglected, or tried to sweep under the rug/wallpaper over in the game that are NOT in a good state....and are becoming an obnoxious thorn in the paw of a lot of veteran players. 1. Crucible: With the exception of Trials, PVP is in a terrible state right now, and the experience it gives the average player is a rude joke. 2. Loot system. The game STILL doesn't have enough loot, and Bungie caved on Sunsetting in an effort to cover up that deficiency. 3. Progression system: The Milestone and PInnacle systems are just BROKEN...and the fact that they've been in this game now for 5 years is laughable....and a consummate disgrace. 4. Champion system. Bungie continues to use the champions mechanic as a way to curate loadouts under the table. Instead of promoting wider use of a variety weapons, it has the opposite effect. If forces you to use the same basic loadout for weeks and months are a time. Which makes the game play get stale FASTER....and actually causes many of us to play LESS rather than more. ...and makes matchmade end-game content frustrating because you encounter so many rebellious players who just refuse to use ANY of the mods. So you have to run dual primary unless you want to waste time with wipes. 5. Shared sandbox. The fact that PVP and PVE share the same sandbox is one of the game's BIGGEST ongooing flaws....it is NOT this game's "superpower".

No. Why? Because evey time the game gets dull and we start demanding fixes/changes to it, we're thinking of how the game is at that moment. When those changes come they come in large overhauling ways and since we're basically desperate for it we welcome it with open arms, before ever checking it to see if it measures up to our needs/wants. And they usually end up disappointing. There's no building to their game structure, its just replaced every few months.

The story is the reason I play this game and it's in an amazing place. I feel like they haven't missed when writing the story since the game began. Only major complaint I have is the decision to sunset over half the guns in the game. I do not understand what their thought process was in doing this, and I have yet to see a convincing argument as to why. Beyond that I really do like the game, I think the majority of the complainers are probably sweats that burn through content in the first week then complain bc there's nothing to do. Some more crucible maps would be great but it's not something that breaks the game for me

My brothers into infinite lately and often comments that destiny gets a lot of stuff to do and has a pretty massive backlog of stuff to chase. Meanwhile they’re still waiting for core features every past halo launched with… Honestly we have it pretty good as destiny players. Far from perfect but definitely improved from when the franchise started

3 RepliesIMO: Storyline seems decent. Minor things like, changing ones appearance without deleting your character would be nice. Probably not a top shelf kind of need or issue but one people have asked about and wanted for a while. Since it’s a looter shooter, having better loot would be fun. At least knowing more details about drop rate, when they use words like “common” would be nice as well. Most of their posts when dealing with issues are either very wordy, but don’t say much, or have very few details. Overall more transparency from Bungie is needed. Map- more of them, more rotations and larger ones would be nice. Especially for pvp, and more so for anything that is 6v6. Scale on most maps is typically very small, that lets people run things like HC and Shotguns most of the time. (Not blaming people who find weapons that work for them, or they enjoy using) but the scale lets people use such weapons a lot. Pve is decent. More solo play options would be good. Special weapons, and armor shouldn’t be limited to doing raids or dungeons if you don’t have a clan or fireteam to work with. Pvp- however it’s done, much better match making should happen. Most matches should be fairly close, not lopsided. People shouldn’t be thrown into a match because others left, likely dew because their team was getting rolled to start with. Classes seem fairly balanced- although waiting to see what Arc and Solar 3.0 being. Titans could probably use a little more of an identity/ personality. Weapon crafting- decent idea, and the glaive is a good edition. I think they need to work on how crafting is done. Many games seem like they have a smother system in place. Like Bungie didn’t learn from what’s already out there. I am glad it’s in the game overall. Armor- some mods slots could be moved to ghost or weapons. That would free up space for armor. Being able to unlock armor as ornaments is a nice touch. Space Horse!!! Good edition. 🙂

I'm torn, story us amazing, I could spend hours digging into it. On the other hand, a lot of decision they made with activities have been pretty terrible, and there's other stuff I wish they had changed/added.

1 ReplyPvE is definitely in a really good spot in terms of the amount and variety of content. I guess whatever is going on with PvP will be starting to take shape throughout the year. I just hope that when it comes to matchmaking its not going to be something where it sucks for certain people in order to make it easier for other people until they hopefully become good enough that they can be in the group that it sucks for too.

2 RepliesYeah. I think it's in a pretty good spot. I don't think there will ever be a perfect state for Destiny, so I'm never going to expect it. I'll just continue giving my feedback about the current state as is to make it better.

1 ReplySo you created a post because you were expecting players to say no? The ones who are ok with the game, you try to attack and coerce them into saying there's a problem? The game is fine as it is. Too many games nowdays are cookie cutter and rehashed content worse than Destiny 2. I play Destiny because I enjoy raids and the weapon grind. Other looter shooters just don't make the cut when it comes to team based activities.
