The thing overwatch does with their servers is a high reason playwrs can't be as good as they could be. Bungie uses this same tactic in their servers. But if they want to be able to start making some money etc. Competetive scene with support from the sports community they need to make an update from their servers. Cod receives millions from viewers due to their competetive scene. I knoe Destiny isn't cod. But if there is one thing cod gets right is dedicated servers. Bungie has still yet to even update their server case, and it shoes. You can't shoot through walls but I get plenty of kills through them due to latency issues and I get killed a lot by it too. I watched some youtube to see if it was consol specific and no p.c players and current gen consols alike suffer from latency issues. You peek then you go back into cover but it's no use. Because you're using the mcdonalds wifi router of someone on your team (rather than being connected directly to the server and running off of their dedicated connection) it ruins the gameplay. Pve and Pvp alike. Rhulk boss encounter can be a nightmare when he starts teleporting and when you're bullets don't properly respond because "obviously" he isn't where you are shooting. But you are shooting at his character model. He just isn't apart of that, he is where he is on the hosts screen, not yours. If Bungie wants this game to run for decades as it claims. Having some sort of server update and/or a switch to dedicated servers will be on the list. It improves qol. And rumor has it, this is also why overwatch has events and no set pve mode. Idk bout that much though. But it is nice to see what is actually happening rather than hoping your host has the next gen wifi router. I know bungie likes rng in everything (which removes fun when it has to do with enemy teleportation or if your shotgun will actually shoot in the reticle or if you actually need to just be "lucky" in order to win gunfights. No I stopped playing because of this check my seasons 5 through 7 stats. I stopped to move onto better pvp games. I do like pve a lot but since enemies teleport on a regular basis or because the enemy heals because that's the last time the hp bar can remember what hp the enemy had (due to the mcds wifi). Very inconsistent by developers who strive for consistency. I get it's hard to do this. But it's also hard to pull destiny (the franchise) off at all without it being a complete crime to humanity. Rng pve rolls in order to participate in PvP, where have we seen that before? In games where pvp is dead. Millions of players login because destiny really is one of a kind game, but having to punch through the bullets can really get people to through their controllers and break their t.v./monitor due to deaths, resets, and bugs which reslly kill the gameplay. Single player games are a different story but this isn't that. Quite the opposite. Even when you are solo. Bungo is guaranteed pay to win (routers, internet provider, ps5, newest xbox, p.c which specks outmatch a ps4/xbox1, not a faulty ethernet cord, and even then you may still be getting hosted by the guy with mcds wifi) I personally wont be playing the game much anymore unless it's due to clans request. Or unless the latency issues are delt with. And it scares me because I have broken a few controllers over this game, raged a lot, cried from laughter a couple of times. But overall not worth it when the issues seem to just pass by bungie and get the thumbs up of approval because they simply don't want to. A lot of people talk about this but the arguement always comes down to "get gud" the problem is, the players that have gotten good just no life the game and the players that are good at cod, or any other 1st person shooter just find destiny pvp highly unenjoyable. Which is understandable destiny is pve focused. But even then with someone that isn't used to bugs and glitches that seem to be exclusive to destiny just can't do anything to combat them, are left clueless on how to deal with issues, and destiny stays collecting dust compared to the other games they play. More players = More fun. More constant players = a better game. And these players will touch destiny when the content matters. But will not have the game in their top 3 or 5 because a lot of things are triggered due to falty servers / that one code that connects you to them, and it runs slow.
