Bungie has a really interesting track record when it comes to buffing, nerfing, and adjusting weapons in the game. First off, you basically ruined Fighting Lion (My favorite gun to grace this stale game) by nerfing it’s reload speed so hard because with infinite ammo it would be “too spammy”. Thanks bungie, but if you knew your weapons you’d know that Lion basically had infinite ammo before infinite primary ammo was a thing. Please undo that.
Bungie has a very non-constructive way of balancing things, but before they’re readjusted, they’re made so thoughtlessly about how they’ll impact the game (the playtesters, if they’re even real aren’t perfect and every Avenue of the efficacy of a weapon can’t be foreseen so yes I’m trying to understand) and then when people get the weapon in their hands, make an entire build around it and overall have a good time with it, bungie pulls the rug out from under our feet and nukes it.
Another thing. To me, I’d say that a weapons’ versatility from pve to Pvp is important to me, because it’s fun to rack up a kill tracker and get better with the weapon. But when bungie sees a weapon is used too much they they Nerf it because it’s not how “they” want people to play the game.
Lets clarify something, I understand that it’s bungies’ game, and they have every single right to make this game in the way that they want, but when you’re so restrictive on how you want people to play your game, people are going to start leaving, as has happened many times.
Though extremely stale, they have something special here, please take these words and consider them. I speak for a chunk of people who’ve agreed with me.
TL;DR
The core aspect of bungies buffing and nerfing, though perhaps with good intentions, is very restrictive and redundant because they want you to play how they want you to play. Yet, it’s a video game.
