Pretty minor issue but thought I'd mention it regardless. Deadfall consumes your melee charge but the Heavy Handed mod, which is supposed to refund half your melee energy in exchange for one stack of charged with light, does not consume a charge or refund melee energy. Throwing a regular Deadfall smoke bomb activates it as normal.
My guess would be that the mod just doesn't register Deadfall as using a melee ability but idk, I'm not a programmer.
Edit: I just realised that the name is Quickfall, Deadfall is the single shot tether variant... Welp

in 4.1.0 they claim to have fixed this but it doesnt even trigger echo of exchange which was specifically mentioned in the patch notes

Deadfall is considered a movement ability similar to Icarus Dash and Shatterdive, therefore it will not activate melee based mods despite using a melee charge.
