For such a community and teamwork-based game.... [b]FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CAN WE PLEASE GET SOME KIND OF PINGING SYSTEM!?[/b] Destiny has some kick--blam!- sound effects, kick--blam!- motion design/animation, and kick--blam!- mechanics in any team-based puzzle mechanics that really sets it apart from any other game. The lack of team pings definitely forces the fireteams to communicate more effectively but to get to that level takes time to understand that spatial awareness. When it comes to trying to sherpa new teammates (something that's been pretty awesome for the destiny community to have) it has always been a pain to try and get new players to stick to the game. My friends drop the game once an encounter gets too annoying to traverse because spatial awareness for teammates, especially for a big game like destiny, is just horrible. Current situation 1: LFG Teammate: hey I need help here You: Who said that? LFG Teammate: I did [b][i]*starts shooting*[/i][/b] You: [b][i]*looks for sound*[/i][/b]....!?!? LFG Teammate: [b][i]*dies*[/i][/b] [b][i]*team wipe*[/i][/b] Current situation 2: Sherpa: so does everyone know what to do? LFG teammate: first time Sherpa: [b][i]*explains strat* [/i][/b] LFG teammate: [b][i]*following along*[/i][/b] Sherpa: adds are gonna spawn here [b][i]*points and shoots*[/i][/b] and you gotta go here [b][i]*points and shoots*[/i][/b] LFG teammate: [b][i]*???*[/i][/b] I think so.... [b][i]*team wipe*[/i][/b] I'm just saying....a ping system is probably a huge challenge back-end wise for a small feature but honestly, it potentially could go a looooong way in making lfg fireteam matchmaking and freelancing SO much more smooth for everyone. IMAGINE FREELANCE TRIALS OR GAMBIT WITH PINGING!!! Imagine how fast team reactions will be. The only downside I can think of is the overuse of the ping that could make it annoying for the other fireteams but honestly...if anyone's played Apex Legends, then you understand that really isn't a huge issue.
