I very much enjoyed Invader Swap Gambit Labs this week, more so the pace of games felt different not as much of a rush (albeit heavy spam). Not sure what the plan is for gambit in the future but I think the community would benefit greatly from a horde mode.
I imagine they could make it story driven like it's a simulation to help beat Xivu Arath. Each round you fight waves of enemies as well as an optional objectives to increase rewards. Every 5 rounds you fight an emissary of Xivu Arath, kinda like a boss fight. After defeating the boss at the 5th round the next set of waves gets harder. Perhaps enemies throw more grenades, more health, deal more damage, or even (at a high round) get the legend campaign/grandmaster treatment.
High Tier rewards for high level content is adept weaponry and now the new mementos (aside from gambit), this could drop adept weaponry/memento at milestone rounds like round 50, with a chance to get additional drops every 10 rounds, similary with how trials wins after flawless have a chance to reward adept. Common rewards should drop after every boss wave encounter and every set of 10 rounds drop materials to craft/obtain new weaponry.
A horde mode would be a fresh take in the destiny universe and I think its possible especially with the amount of enemies in the newest content. I think this would make a much better place to level crafted weapons up instead of mindlessly going into shuro chi.
