Title.
I have been playing the first Mass Effect game(s), which I never played in 07, but some aspects of Destiny's world/lore/plots/enemy types are just so similar in a way. Both share many similarities.
Like the Geth & the Vex. Or how they both see themselves as the final shape & would like to eradicate all living things in the universe.

I’d finish the trilogy before making that kind of comparison, as it does fall apart rather quickly.

Edited by High Charity: 3/30/2022 1:08:40 AMPro tip, just skip the last few minutes of ME3. That being said, there are some similarities yes but that's mostly due to a Sci-fi shooter with loads of aliens that are both aligned with and fighting against you

Just add an Anderson saying "Shepard!" at the end of the Destroy Ending and you're good to go.

I think they share some similarities, but mass effects world is so much bigger and on a bigger scale, and much much more diverse , I cant even count all the different species in ME , and each one is different and unique and has there own lore and culture , Bungie has hinted at other species , but doesn't want to do the work to put them in the game, Rhulk is the first real new species we have had in 8 years, and all we know about him is the name of his planet and he really likes the witness. And Bungie is just now starting to flesh out the Eliksni and Cabal , and have barely brushed upon the Vex But if I were to make some comparisons Cabal/Krogan ---‐---------------------- Physically imposing species renowned for there military prowess, value honor and bravery above all Taken/Reaper Forces --------‐------------------ Husks of other species being used has ground forces by the main antagonists Spectres/Guardians --‐---------------------------- Seen has the most elite soldiers in the universe , equally respected, praised and feared Eliksni/Quarians -------------------------- This one is a bit of a stretch, but they both value technology, and incorporate there biological bodies with synthetic tech , and they are both looked down upon but for vastly different reasons Asari/Awoken ---------------------- Both Humanoid Matriarchal society's, I actually have head canon that the protheans created the Asari from an ancient female human, both are naturally gifted Lightbearers/Biotics -------------------------- Wielders of space magic That's really all I can think of right now, The Reapers are like a combination of the Gardner and Winnower, They take life , but they also seed new life for the next harvest , and Mass Effect is not just shooting and space magic, it asks the player questions , Species superiority, the validity of interspecies relationships, does Synthetics have a soul, population control and alot more If you just skimmed over this, I will say Mass Effect is Star Trek , and Destiny is Star Wars

Edited by DJ-Sentinel_Soul: 3/30/2022 12:02:27 AMBesides the Collectors and the Hive both being bug-zombie monsters, and the Witness and Pyramid ships lurking out in dark space like The Reapers, nah. Though...we do seem to be uniting the races (Cabal, Fallen, Awoken, and Humanity) against a common foe, which you may see in Mass Effect 3 (hopefully not a spoiler), but those are more common themes than similar plots. Besides, if you play the Citadel DLC in Mass Effect 3 (mild spoiler ahead) you'll find that Commander Shepard's resurrection in ME2 had some heavy implications of what Cerberus actually did. Guardians get revived and reconstituted with holy space magic.

I don’t know what mass effect is but unless that game has shape gods giving magical space powers I don’t think they have the same plot.

Edited by Bownzinho: 3/29/2022 7:50:59 PMIt’s not even close plot wise. If you play the others you’ll see how different they are. The Geth are nothing really

Edited by Unbreakable Patches: 3/29/2022 8:33:27 PMThey are nowhere near being similar. Have you actually played either game?
