My favorite thing about Halo was how diverse it was and how it brought people together to have new experiences and openness of thought. Master Chief is you...he's me...he's all of us.
EDIT: for those of you who haven't caught on, I'm making fun of the current state of Halo

Halo 1 and 2 were fun, but I also enjoyed ODST and Reach. ODST because you aren't a Spartan super soldier. Reach because it felt more real seeing all the dead Spartans in the later missions. You also get to see that Spartans aren't invincible, unlike the regular Halo series that have Master Chief wiping out an army of aliens like he is just some immortal killing machine.

Master Chief definitely is not me. I don’t like his gruff voice, or his cheesy one-liners, or his armor, or how he starts with boring human weapons. I liked playing as the ODST, Noble 6, Arby, and Locke better. Inb4 someone gets mad at me for liking Locke.

I have never, ever played a videogame where i viewed the the character I was controlling as a substitute for myself.

I could not play those games for I myself am not a man.
-
I like how even 16 year old me knew when the first game dropped that it wasn’t fun and I didn’t waste my time with that franchise for the last 20ish years.

Halo will infinitely be in your hearts.
