Hello, Bob Bungie.
I really don't know how to begin, but I should anyways. This is the last 'Hail Mary' of a day spent mourning the loss of my favorite gun in the game.
For context, when I got my ignition code back in season of the splicer, it was love at first sight. Slideshot had been all I was aiming for, but it came with my own personal 'god roll'. It never spent a day in my vault, always being transferred between my characters directly by DIM. After all, it was my favorite special weapon in the slot. Nothing else even came close to how much fun I had using it. However, it fell off of my radar one day, and out of my mind at the same time. In an inventory trade between two of my characters, it was lost in the system. I never deleted it from my vault, or from my characters, and I keep very good track of what I do and do not infuse.
It's gone.
And I'll miss it.
So I ask, in a forum post seen by few and read by fewer, that we get a way to grind for weapons from past seasons again. If I had my way, I would have never lost it. If I had my second best pick, Xur sells it. Pipe dream, it gets manually added back to my inventory.
However, none of those are likely.
I would appreciate if, in the next season or three, we had a way to grind out these weapons once more. Be it an umbral engram, dares of eternity, or something else, I want nothing more than to feel it in my hands once again.
I fear that I never will.
Thank you.

I solemnly feel for your loss, friend. Best of luck in your recovery. I agree that it would be nice to have the opportunity to go after old loot. Unfortunately, we've known that this was a possibility since last year or two years ago when there was the first confirmed report of an armor being deleted by Destiny Item Manager. I would recommend reaching out to their team, but, as with that armor piece, there is no way of recovering it to your character. Perhaps they can supply a list of its perks for a screenshot. I hope that you can find some solace in knowing another Guardian shares in the pain from the loss of a favorite weapon.

Have you actually carefully browsed through your Vault ingame (not via Companion or third-party apps)?

Edited by Siegfried, the First Saint: 3/26/2022 1:20:28 PMSuch things can happen when using such apps and sites And that's not Bungie's fault, so you're wrong about the post here You would have to contact the app's support, but you won't get the lost item back The only way to get them again is if Xur sells it
