Solo queue playlist exists which means Bungie understands the pain of matching stacks, but how about the people who just play with one or two friends? Limiting the stack size to 3 would enable healthier matches. Groups of 4 can just split into teams of 2, which my group has done plenty of times for other activities. 2 players splitting into solo queue just... Seems extra lame and not what we want to do.
I'm sure lots of people will dislike this idea but to me it sounds like a solution that could reduce the number of players ending matches feeling like they never should have bothered.

Screenshot of 6 stack with players all from different clans.
Matches like this help me sympathize with the Thralls in the Thrallway section of Shattered Throne. In PVE we would call matches like this "a good farm", but in this case it is the unfortunate unstacked players who get farmed. It don't feel so good!
It's so hard to get the loot you want from Iron Banner that players LFG for 6 stacks in an attempt to Mercy as many teams as possible to end matches faster. Some do it to increase their KDA. Other players 6 stack because they don't want to be on the receiving end of that without a guaranteed chance of putting up a fight, because they know how painful it can be otherwise. 6 stacking is toxic.
There is no matchmaking in Raids because reasons. Maybe Iron Banner could do with some matchmaking rules too? Fighting a 6 stack for me is harder and more frustrating than learning a raid encounter.
I can't imagine being a lesser experienced player and getting put into these matches. It's not even a game at that point. You're just fodder for the 6 stack gods to demolish so they can get their loot quicker. Hell, even 4-5 stacks can be incredibly hard to fight, which is why I think 3 is a good number for stack size.

Or prioritise matching stacks vs stacks??? That would be sensible thing to do
