Sort your sh*t out Bungie. You’re copyright striking the people that bring eyes and ears to your game. Not only do they put more hours into the game than anyone else but they get other people into playing your game. They literally make you money. These people don’t deserve to have their YouTube accounts banned or deleted when they are doing the same thing they’ve been doing for years and now all of a sudden copyright claims are coming in. Yet another stain on bungie’s reputation.
-
Meh, probably better for the game.

The truth about “content” “creators” is pretty simple. Their own laziness in their content is going to end up ruining a LOT of what could have been possible. This particular instance aside-most content creation out there now is extremely lazy clickbait, usually containing information that is incorrect but is just put out anyways so they can be on the YouTube market as soon as possible. It’s garbage content in 99.9999% of cases. The extremely few YouTubers making quality content will very soon be at the mercy of the fad it has become. With all of the incorrect, misleading, clickbait only videos being put out by “hopeful creators” who don’t know a damn thing about what they’re doing and in some cases about the games they’re covering… it won’t be long before you have to become a licensed or employed streamer for a company to stream their game and/or make content for it. Everyone saw a get rich while being lazy dream and didn’t know the effort and hard work that goes into actual content creation. So everyone hopped on board, learned how to make a video for YouTube as easy as possible, and started posting whatever dumb thing they could as fast as they could. This market is going to collapse because the content being made is mostly horrifically bad and terribly inconsistent. So I say: if they can’t figure out how to limit content by it’s quality they’ll end up not allowing it at all anymore and start employing their own creators. A few years down the line-you’ll see what I mean.
-
99.99% of players don’t care about strimmers or youtubers. This is a non-issue.
-
Can we blame Luke Smith instead of Sony
-
Everyone in here hating on the YouTubers is f*cking ignorant and salty. This game would have died along time ago without the hardcore players. When all the casuals left the hardcore destiny fans are the ones who kept it afloat. The YouTubers fall into that category and they also help to get casuals into or back into the game soooooo………..
-
Please. I would be fine with all of them banned. Streamers ruined this game.

This is a YouTube issue. The platform has gotten so big that it can’t be managed by humans. So you have these AI algorithms that enforce the law by sorting through the deluge of content. So either there is a poorly written alogorithm, or you have a third-party who is a bad actor and doing this maliciously. Deliberately weaponizing YTs copyright protection policies and practices.

Edited by Demon_XXVII: 3/22/2022 2:53:08 PMSeems Bungie are also feeling the hit with copywrite issues On their own Bungie YT account (copywrite issues with their own intellectual property) https://twitter.com/Bungie/status/1505630845993844736?s=20&t=IboGtll7_RfkZ-MYAqWjDA This is more a Google/YouTube issue
-
This games community is so toxic. One of the reasons I hate lfg but man is it really shining through right now lol.
-
Bungie already ‘officially’ twittered out that THEY are not doing this and neither are they affiliated partners. A third party is doing this and they are investigating it. Even bungies own channels are getting red flagged! This is either some 🤬 broken youtube algorithm that’s causing mayhem, or this is Sony putting everything on lockdown not aware of how they are hurting the content creators in general.
-
Bungie said it wasn’t them making the strikes. Maybe it was Sony taking control???
-
These copyright strikes are not issued by bingie and have even strikes bungies own videos themselves, they are currently working on getting it worked out
-
Youtube as whole has been garbage since that one woman at Google became head of YouTube which has been going on since around 2017 We don't have a decent alternative either and Content Creators can only do so much to divert fans to another reliable platform
-
Edited by Rainstater: 3/22/2022 2:54:12 AMlol so many toxic people. Ironic because they have all more than likely watched a YouTube video for some reason or another. Even if just for entertainment or to learn the deeper lore of the game.
-
Lmfao!!!! Who gives a -blam!-
-
All these people saying its a good idea will be complaining when they dont know how to do new raids .
-
Oh so now we like content creators?
-
I could care less.
-
Oh no, Aztecross! What will he do when he cant display his raid emblem that is the symbol of his greatest life achievement -.-
-
Oh no You tubers are going to have to get a real job
-
Edited by SomarYNot: 3/21/2022 4:39:24 PMOh No people getting paid for doing absolutely nothing have to get a real job -edit for all you below commenting what's considered a real job if I asked my father that question growing up I wouldn't be alive today
-
Sorry to disappoint, but bungie is not responsible for this copyright infringement.
-
And I thought that the Halo community was dreadful. People endlessly cry about the stupidest -blam!-!
-
I'm gonna side with Bungie in the sense that I don't think this is their doing. I think that whoever or whatever is managing community content either went rogue or is just going after anyone that meets certain parameters. Remember, YouTubes algorithm is known for randomly taking down content.
-
Edited by SeventhIy: 3/21/2022 12:55:16 PMSomeone is after a certain YouTuber because when he complains bungie nerfs things. I’ll give you a hint on who he is
he got worlds second raid completion twice lmao
If you think about it bfy and others are making money off content that doesn’t belong to them makes sense.
