Character stuff further down, but the main point of the post is I'm indecisive on what to do weapon wise. I'm planning to go Zealot Barbarian for extra immortality. We get a free feat at 1st lvl cuz DMs a bro.
Party comp as far as I know:
Tiefling Bard
Halfling Artificer
Wood Elf Ranger
And me the Zombarian
Big Weapon mean big damage. It meta cuz Great Weapon Master broken. I don't hate the idea of carrying a sword nearly as big as I am.
Dual Wielding is kinda trash, but I really like the image in my head of a sword in one hand and an axe in the other. Also +1 armor I guess.
Then there's Sword and Board, which is a shield for those who don't speak nerd. Less damage but more armor which could be useful in such a squishy party, and it kinda looks like I'm gonna be alone in melee.
OR! Polearm Master! STICK! Opportunity Attacks when they approach, and a BONK as a bonus action! Either Big Stick two hander or Spear and Shield Sparta Special.
Idk, hence poll. Gimme thoughts. I have a hard time playing what I want over what I feel the party needs.
Now other bits.
A friend is going to try his hand at DMing, starting with the Mines of Phanypacks or whatever then maybe moving on to other things. I'm going to be playing a Barbarian using the Undead Reborn race thingy. You're probably picturing some Draugr from Skyrim.
Nah, I'm going Pet Sematary with it.
My characters name is Eleanor "Ellie" Graves. She's a 20 something going on 63 year old, 5 foot 3, mousey farmgirl. Thin and pale with bland brown hair and light blue eyes with milky pupils.
She got crushed by a runaway wagon and the village-grave-digger/grandpa engaged in a mild amount of demonic dealings and necromancy. Ellie came back wrong and a bit deadlike, some backstory stuff I haven't decided upon happened, and now she's a traveling mercenary.
I'm not telling the others any of that though. As far as the other players will be concerned she's a bit grim and sickly, but an otherwise unremarkable Normal Human Woman.

Better get started on your next character as undead can’t be healed by conventional spells or health pots. But if a DM will allow a feat at level 1, then it’s sounds like he’ll bend that rule for you too.
