So yesterday I made a forum post stating that Bungie should make swords have unlimited melee usage just like. I am all for it not being "overpowered". Do whatever you need to do to make it fair like using glaives. It's just that now that we have a melee type, such as glaives, that unlimited melee usage, it really makes me wish swords also have that same feature too. Especially since swords came first before glaives. You could honestly make it so that each sword of the new archetype had some combo technique or something, and then that would be the thing that uses ammo. But for regular, normal melee attacks, it'd have unlimited use like glaives. And before you say things like "it'll be broken or "too powerful" in pvp," just remember that people have always complained about using shotguns, fusion rifles, meta weapons, etc in the past. If anything, it'd be a balance of sorts to rival those. And before anyone says anything about it rendering glaives useless, I can argue that it won't. 1) Glaives are melee yes, but they also do ranged gun attacks too. Swords would be for close quarters and heavy close quarter attacks. There'd still be alot of "purposes" for glaives. 2) Just because there'd be a new melee archetype for swords, doesn't mean that everyone will just use only swords. The cool thing about melee weapons is that people can have different tastes in styles that they want to use. I'd wager thar there will still be giant majorities of people who'd use glaives just because they like pole arm weapons slot. Anyways, in conclusion, I strongly believe that there should be a new sword archetype that has unlimited melee swing usage just like glaives.
