Anyone else getting Broccoli, Hard crashes and BSOD's?

Title says it all, every time I launch D2 WQ everything is fine for about 10 minutes to an hour, then during any random activity I'll either hard crash or BSOD. Everything I've looked for is pointing to a driver error but I've completely RESET my PC and lost all my (unimportant such as games and settings and drivers) data just to have clean drivers for this expansion. I guess I just want to know that Bungie is aware and is working on it. I already checked the "known issues" tab and it hasn't been listed. I've also checked the DestinySupport Subreddit and it seems like I'm not the only one having this issue. Specs as follows in case they need to recreate the issue; MB: ASUS ROG Strix Z690-E Gaming CPU: i9-12900K RAM: 32GB G.SKILL Trident Z5 DDR5 @6000 Mhz GPU: RTX 3080Ti Founders Edition (no overclock since D2 don't like it) PSU: 850Watt EVGA 850GM Storage: (for the game) 2TB Intel 660p M.2 NVMe Bungo, all I'm askin for is acknowledgement of the issue and that y'all are workin on it. Thanks for your time!

  • I've had a similar issue recently of my PC crashing and rebooting itself when playing Destiny 2 lately as well. I have a respectable setup that can more than handle the game but somehow when I'm in an activity with friends and we get to a boss fight or its an intense thing like a raid encounter with a lot happening, my game will stop working, sound cuts out, screen goes black and my entire PC shuts down and reboots. Event Viewer only shows Kernel Error 41 which indicates the PC was shut down incorrectly. A lot of people like to claim its a hardware problem, something to do with a faulty PSU but mine was recently replaced with an EVGA750 watt PSU. My GPU is an RTX2080. My card is not overclocked to begin with, as I don't know how to, nor care to enable that. I'm fairly certain however that after some experimentation including trying to purposely recreate the crash while running task manager to check for performance issues, that there is an issue with power draw spikes and Destiny 2, which could also tie into the VRAM leak. I have 16gb of VRAM myself, and I noticed that when I go to the Quagmire area and stand around, Destiny 2 uses 7-8gb of it depending on what I'm doing. Just for roaming an open area and sometimes with not even very many players or enemies onscreen. Funny enough in the video settings in-game there's a little bar at the top that shows how much VRAM is being used depending on your settings and it shows there that barely any of the VRAM is supposedly being used. But the task manager says otherwise. So... not sure what to think there. At least I know I'm not alone in experiencing a similar problem with D2. In any case, Bungie needs to address this problem as it is clearly prevalent. Why they refuse to do so is beyond me. I have found a possible temporary fix though - make sure your NVIDIA settings and your in-game settings are matching EXACTLY. I have my FPS capped at 72 in both NVIDIA and game settings, with general game settings set to High (previously was set to maximum). So far I haven't had any more crashes but I'm being cautious.

    • I have a similar issue. It's a non-recreatable scenario for me, and it's not a at consistent time or after a specific action. So far it hasn't crashed during an activity, but it seems to happen a lot if I'm in or just exiting a menu, which is wack because I'm constantly in my menus checking things and whatnot but it only happens every so often, once or twice a day. The sound still works, and if I have music playing on YouTube, that still works. I can't tab out or ctrl alt delete or anything, so I end up hard restarting each time which is super annoying. I don't really know where to start fixing either since it's not consistent.
