Edited by o_____________o: 2/27/2022 1:09:43 AMTry xbox.com. EDIT: Damn, Vic beat me to it. And yeah...it's not the same. I think the internet in general was a little bit more of a wild west back then than it is now. Also people are growing up, myself included. (Though I usually lag about 5 years behind.).

People grow and change. Old faces disappear and new ones take their place. The cycle repeats but not quite the same. What matters is that the spirit remains. The spirit is still here. I have seen many iterations of The Flood/ Offtopic. This place is in good hands.

Oh yea then why don’t you marry it

have you tried xbox.com?

Edited by Cultmeister: 2/21/2022 10:59:37 AMLike Ricochet said, which old one? The one where every other thread was complaining about how bad Reach was (yes, people complained a hell of a lot, ‘Reachtard’ was an actual slur) and spamming meatspin? Or the one where every other thread was forum drama, politics/religion flame wars and people licking [popular female user of the month]’s spats? That could be a few eras to be honest Or the one where every other thread was 7 year olds making three-word tweet posts five times a day? Way I see it the only legitimately bad thing about the forums nowadays is the lack of activity, everything else is par for the course here. But tbh even the lack of activity has its upsides. Feels a lot more chill and actually kinda close-knit compared to the barrage of new people making threads which would actually get pretty bland in ‘ye olde times’. Especially when you wanted to make a thread yourself cus you’d spend hours making something genuinely fun or engaging, post it, come back to it a few hours later and it’d have been buried under 30 newer threads and there’d be about 3 replies to it if you were lucky. And that would be your thread. DOA. And popular users don’t hide away causing drama and being -blam!- in private groups anymore *cough* Sapphire was a pile of -blam!- *cough*. And people don’t spread pictures of others about without their permission these days either, which was the inevitable downside to the face reveal threads and random omeagle chats that happened.

Edited by Shammy: 2/20/2022 4:44:08 AMI miss the old OffTopic. Straight from the 'Go OffTopic, chop up the soul OffTopic, set on their goals OffTopic. I hate the new OffTopic, the bad mood OffTopic, the always rude OffTopic, spaz in the news OffTopic. I miss the sweet OffTopic, chop up the beats OffTopic. I gotta to say, at that time I'd like to meet OffTopic. See I invented OffTopic, it wasn't any OffTopic, and now I look and look around and there's so many OffTopickles. I used to love OffTopic, I used to love OffTopic, I even had the pink Polo, I thought I was OffTopic. What if OffTopic made a song, about OffTopic? Called "I Miss The Old OffTopic," man that would be so OffTopic! That's all it was OffTopic, we still love OffTopic, and I love you like OffTopic loves OffTopic.

Offtopic is literally the Painted World of Ariandel from dark souls.

Edited by Streak: 2/21/2022 3:28:18 PMSame here. Like looking at other replies. I too started going here in high school, now I'm a junior in college! Crazy how things change. I will say this, offtopic 3 years ago was the best time! Not because it's the past, or back in high school. But the fact how interactive the forums were. How inclusive we were to people here. Yes they were political posts, but you can’t have a perfect system here. It was fun, the drawings, the stories, a server, hell we did the Pringles can bit!!! It was the best, but times change. Sad for us no matter how you put it, but a new start for others. “Edit I’m not saying it’s not interactive here, just not as much”

I’ve been through so many “old” off topics.. this current generation will also be “old” one day and another post like this one will be made to reminisce on its perceived glory.
-
The fact that I was barely in highschool and now I’m over halfway through my first year in college… It’s nutty my guy. Like I went from coming home from class to play fortnite all evening with my fam…to procrastinating studying to get like one or two games of Halo/Apex in before bed… It’s a different world. Offtopics always been there though, it’s crazy.

When I was at work I met a guy who worked for big tech for 15 years. He said the same thing.
but he was kind of a creep
I dont lmao, not from when back when I joined anywho. Sure, was a lil fun seeing the same politic/religion nutjobs go at eachother constantly but even that got tiring after a while. I honestly prefer the way it is now, not too active for my taste since I dont exactly hop on here multiple times a day anymore, but not too dead either. It varies how often I pop by, say anythin from a few days to months at most, so for me atleast there's always sumthin new goin. Despite how even I can see its "dead" compared to back when I joined or just a couple yrs ago (especially before the politic/religion talk ban) I wouldnt give up hope on this place just yet. Im hardly new round here despite bein far from the oldest, so even I have seen a few purges and droughts.

I like the old one better TBH. This current one isn't even as good as the one from 3 years ago. I would have to say though the off topic pre 2011 could get pretty hostile and we probably shoulda had the same amount of ninjas as we had now.

Wish I saw old OffTopic, and not it's trip off the stairs and into a coma where it's currently being fed through paper tubes.

To some people it is

Peaked in high-school and still not over it.

And you are?
