Whatever changes Bungie did to Stasis crystals after they removed freezing for Glacier grenade absolutely ruined Behemoth's heavy attack. When I say "They broke its slam", I don't mean "broken" as in "overpowered". I mean "broken" as in "fundamentally at its most basic level not working as it should". The initial slam's freeze is incredibly inconsistent and the crystals you spawn out in front of you outright fail to freeze enemy players even if they're caught in them. I have included four videos of myself failing to freeze players who were absolutely within either the initial slam's freeze radius or the radius of its crystals to freeze them so others can see what I mean.

There is absolutely no reason to run Behemoth whatsoever because it's such an F-tier super now, and I say this as a Behemoth main. It has no armor to speak of for a melee-only roaming super, super slow without spending all of your super energy chasing down one person running away from you, and even then they'll still probably escape. Not to mention that it is also a T1 Super and takes the longest time to charge for arguably the worst Super in the game and easily the worst T1 Super in the game. It also has slow, clunky af animations that take ridiculously long to perform and more often than not get you killed or stuck on the corner of invisible map geometry, and to top it off, a heavily nerfed, inconsistent neutral kit that is a shadow of its former self.
People are actually encouraged to fight you in your super because Behemoth's attack animations are pitifully slow and easy to evade, the freeze barely works, and your insanely weak super armor is absolutely worthless against a shotgun + melee or fusion rifle player (which you're going to have to deal with for every single player because you have to be in their face to kill them). You should not be encouraged to fight any super by yourself without a Vorpal weapon at minimum or teamshotting it to death with teammates. When I fight Behemoths, I am not afraid of them whatsoever because they're so weak and inconsistent. All I have to do is backpedal with a fusion rifle or shotgun + melee them for a free kill and they wasted their super. Or I can just simply run away and make them spend their entire super trying to chase me down because the melee speed, range and energy cost got nerfed so heavily.
There desperately needs to be a reworking of some kind, or buffs to Behemoth's entire kit (and Stasis in general imo), because outside of the free fragment stat boots, there is no reason to run this over Thundercrash, top tree Sentinel (bubble), or bottom tree Sunbreaker. This problem is only going to worsen when Void 3.0 releases and whoever is left maining Titan will move to main Sentinel and its new T5 Bubble with fresh aspects and fragments. Behemoth, in my opinion, is the weakest roaming super in the game and will continue to be F-tier and the least played Titan subclass as long as it remains in this terrible state. And before anyone asks, no, I do not want Behemoth to be in its Beyond Light launch state where it was egregiously overpowered along with Stasis in general. But right now, it isn't in any kind of decent state whatsoever, and I think Stasis, in general, got hit way too hard for PvP.

Behemoth is literally a downgrade from the light supers. It’s been d0gsh1t in pve since it dropped and now it’s d0gsh1t for pvp.

Edited by Shatterday: 2/19/2022 2:27:13 PMWas playing on my Hunter the other day and 3 punched a Behemoth while they only got 1 attack off. I wanted to send them a msg and apologize, ( but c'mon that'd be a weird msg to get ) so I immediately switched to my Titan and apologized to him. The animation is to slow and clunky to be ideal in PvP. Edit - which is why it initially FROZE anything around it. They took that away but didn't compensate. Typical Bungie.
-
tl;dr in short bungie should redesign the super into something that makes more sense than what we got now
-
That's what happens when a class becomes a threat to hunters in pvp they get nerfed I to the ground.
-
I feel you. It is useless. I’m a behemoth main too and I don’t use my super much unless I can get the jump on others. Not to mention it’s so weak with the armor decrease. They hit behemoth too hard with the nerfs. The super is trash and being the slowest charge time as T1 it’s even worse. It needs major buffs and fixes.
-
If the supper is going to be sh** then at least make it a tier 4 super.
-
Behemoth has the lowest damage resistance of any melee Super, no more area freeze on cast, slow as molasses movement, and the enemies hear you coming from a mile away. Not to mention the inconsistencies that you pointed out with the heavy attack and shiver strike hit detection. It is without a doubt the worst super in the game. And now that Glacial grenades do not freeze and do even less damage to targets, Behemoth has nothing going for it.

Bungie can't balance things right
-
Edited by Killmonger: 2/19/2022 2:07:58 PMIt’s trash and got nerfed the worst of the stasis supers. This is why I hate when Bungie messes with subclasses negatively because they never go back and fix things they mess up. Look how long it’s been messed up. Just revert behemoth back to what it was in the beginning and call it a day.
-
Honestly with void 3.0 they should just undo all the nerfs to stasis in pve only.
-
I've been a behemoth main since it came out, and I completely agree, sadly I will be switching to void for that healing barricade.
-
I don’t understand why they think their idea of balancing is to render something useless. That super had been neutered and wrongfully so, there needs to be variety in the game with all subclasses PROPERLY balanced, this is an amateur league video game
-
I dont play it because it is trash for a long time now (just after the first nerf/bug to the super where it sometimes dont do the heavy attack). But as your videos show its completely broken now. Bungie should look into that. Upvote.
-
Edited by GANDALF: 2/20/2022 5:03:22 PMI watched all the videos you posted. It appears that the Glaciers are just no longer freezing players AT ALL. I suspect it’s because of the changes Bungie made to Glacier Grenades. So instead of freezing players, the super is just slowing them. That seems like an oversight on Bungie’s part. The super should have been tuned separately from the Glacier grenades . . . Have an upvote, hopefully someone passes this to the devs if they don’t already know. Thanks for posting this to make people aware!
-
I believe it is bungie's philosophy to "Nerf anything to the ground then oh so very slowly bring it back up to passing usability"
-
Yeah it doesn't feel right need a buff
-
They should make diamond lance the super be a lot more fun
-
Titan players kinda brought this on themselves, by abusing the (once overly tuned) super & abilities. Same with hunters & warlocks — were all guilty of something at some point. But titans … titan players don’t care. They’ll use it, abuse it, & openly laugh about it..! Lol
-
@A_Dmg get off twitter and read the forums for once. More people need to see this and call bungie out.
-
Its a weird delay. Thats across freeze in general where someone can still melee or shoot while being frozen. The funniest I have seen where I hit a dude with penumbral blast and is still running while frozen. I wanna call macros or hacks but I am going to just blame bungo. Bump for awareness.
-
They made it that way on purpose it’s not broken. If they wanted it to still freeze they could have tuned it separately from the glacier Grenade. Only use it now as a defensive tool. Slam to make a set of ice crystals and slow enemies inside. Then use the melee to charge at them and finish them. It’s probably the worst super against other supers, but it does passably against players. Just give it a full year and maybe they’ll buff it like they did when Nova Warp was eviscerated. It 100% needs to be tuned or reworked from the ground up right now it’s knockoff fist of havoc. The subclass has great neutral game still. Bungie should lean into the “Walking Glacier” theme. Make behemoths slow and have a long cast time in their super but give crazy DR and make heavy slam freeze again.
-
Maybe I’m going against the grain here but I literally sniff people’s arses when I have almost any super active and don’t kill them half the time. Can easily get caught up chasing one person who’s escaping my wrath and waste the whole kit and caboodle too.
-
Literally all it needs is its pre nerf freeze radius back. That’s it. Bring that back and the super will be worth using.
-
The game is only meant to be played by hunter class
-
Based on those clips, it’s not broken or bugged, it’s just trash. The crystals aren’t supposed to freeze people, only slow them, and the slam’s actual freeze radius is kinda terrible. They should make the super’s crystals freeze on activation unlike crystals from other sources, and I also think the super could use more damage resistance if it’s going to have such a slow charge time, unless they buff its speed or melee lunge.
-
Timed right behemoth freezes any close characters on super actvation which could be used to shut down many roaming supers with no ranged attacks as they rush you.
