Bungie, please allow for players who lose connection to your servers to rejoin all missions but most importantly GMs. To do all the work to get to the last phase of a GM and get a dropped connection isn't just a pain for me but for the other two random players that joined up. It's such a pain in the rear and has nothing to do with preventing character or equipment swapping.
-
Too easy to abuse. Just make sure to check your own internet connection before playing.
-
was halfway through plates on hollowed lair, then i got error coded wasting around 20 minutes of time. i already gilded but i still feel bad for the 2 random lfg people that i wanted to help. + i was the invis hunter so that run was basically over for them. spawning in dead with 1 revive cost is a small price to pay for rejoins.
-
Is this doing LOS gm? Because it really isn’t long to do.
-
Anytime I have been in some sort of locked event and I have to log back in, the first thing I see after character selection is the unlock animation. Which to me would seem that Bungie could put a step in to allow for rejoin before changing loadout. If you select a different character, then you can't join. The argument that people would exploit the rejoin or other random could be sherp'ed wouldn't work if only the person dropped could connect. A time limit is more than reasonable. I would even accept losing spec/heavy ammo honestly, if for only the chance at getting back in to complete something.
-
Ask mum and dad to upgrade your internet kid.
-
It's funny people saying it's a bad idea. Of course it has to be same account, character, and loadout.
-
Yes. Some people would abuse it but honestly the trade is worth it and most people won't abuse it anyways.
-
-
It sucks, yes. But if someone could rejoin, they could completely change their loadout for an encounter to better take on the situation, which in some cases, could trivialize the content. The sweats need something to keep them from complaining about content being too easy. This is one thing that is a cause for this situation.
-
Unfortunately, this would lead to a number of exploits: 1. You could easily carry people by getting the boss to a sliver of health and swap out for a new teammate. 2. You could leave to swap loadout, for example, maybe you start with a team of 3 Hunters for invisibility to speedrun the strike, then switch to 3 Thundercrash Titans to melt the boss. 3. Ammo economy could be easily exploited. Out of ammo? Just leave and join back. (I actually did this quite often in Master Empire Hunts the first week of a new season when everyone was severely underleveled). While there may be good intentions for making this change, there are too many negative effects from a change like this.
-
Way too easy to exploit. Shouldn't be implemented
-
It is probably a programming nightmare, but now that they are with Sony, they can hire enough staff to make quality of life improvements like this. To avoid exploits, when equipment locks, the server should record which players and characters are in the fireteam as well as the full loadouts. If a player disconnects, when they try to rejoin, the server verifies the player and character loadout. If it doesn't match, the player can't rejoin. If it matches, they can rejoin with no special or heavy ammo and their abilities are drained (avoids the ability to cheese by forcing a disconnect; plus, I'm assuming it would be to taxing for the server to continuously update ammo and ability status). Is this punishing...yes, a bit. But, not as much as not being able to rejoin.

Why yes that would be and excellent idea to make money from hard gm checkpoints.

Edited by RichGhost77: 2/20/2022 3:46:59 PMOpen to exploits. Unless it was capable of putting you back exactly where you were when you disconnected, with exactly the same amount of ammo and ability meters, and waiting to be revived. Then yes that would be fine.
-
If you want this, it is only fair that there be no extra rewards from killing any champions from the GM, but rewards for completing the Nightfall stay the same. Also it would have to be the same character that started the GM, which is easily traceable (think trials rejoin)
-
That would be something, jank out your internet connection and then you can rejoin with a dif outfit (build) etc. There fore it isnt a good idea, it wil be abused.
-
Would be abused.
-
Unfortunately they wont ever do this. The reason why is cause you could have the most perfect set ups ready for each part of a GM and you can leave or """Disconnect""" then change loadouts and rejoin. And yeah they could lock loadouts as youre rejoining but nothing stops you from doing it on the app or DIM before logging back in.
-
No. Make your internet better or think about loadout before you go into GM.
-
The cons outweigh the pros.
-
Yeah cause this game is plagued with error codes and it’s very common to get kicked out of activities
-
Unfortunately, I suspect rejoin was disabled to prevent last minute boots in order to bring in a friend
-
you can just make people join in with the loadout they started with and dont allow join in if anything changes.
-
It could be abused for a fire team to rotate players leaving to change their loadout and then rejoin, just to avoid the locked loadout modifier.
