Can we get some clarity on this? There actually have been a fair number of players wondering what's up with Weapon Crafting so it would be nice to have this information sometime before TWQ launches.
Bungie said that the first two missions in TWQ and the ability needed to find the Enclave will be free to all players. This is extremely vague and that's to be expected with Bungie; however, I'd like to explain why this is NOT something to be vague about. If a F2P player goes through the start of the new campaign and gets all the way to the Enclave just to have the store page open up saying they need to buy TWQ to gain access to weapon crafting, it will be a major slap to the face. Genuinely insulting to wait until that moment for them to learn. Likely, it will ultimately turn away those players and ensure you never get a cent from them again. So don't tease this "possibility" if you know for a fact that it's actually not possible. It just comes across as a real d*ck move on your part, Bungie. And do you really need to alienate even more players?
So, why not shoot-straight with us for a change, huh? Is weapon crafting going to be available to everyone? If so, how will that work? Will players who don't own TWQ only be able to craft a chunk of weapons from previous expansions they do own? Will it just be the same handful of weapons for all F2P players, like a set list of 5-6 guns everyone has access to? Just some clarity on that would be greatly appreciated. I'm not expecting any but, damn, would I love to be proven wrong.

Pretty sure if you want any of the new stuff you buy the WQ expansion.
