As the title says, i'm experiencing a 1 second frame freeze/fps drop that occurs every 5 seconds. I have tried just about every fix I could find across the internet, set my graphics for the game everywhere between highest and lowest, re-seated my RAM, fiddled with the NVIDIA control panel and my monitors, completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and even taken apart my PC and GPU to clean it and make sure it wasn't any of my hardware. Destiny 2 is also the only game it happens on. It doesn't happen in the menus though, but does happen when looking at the ship in orbit and when on any of the destinations or in matches.
UPDATE; Opened up the ram cache 3 program that came with the ASUS ROG motherboard and ran the DRAM Cache on it. No more stutter. Not sure if this'll work for others with the same problem, but it's something to try.

After doing some research, there is a possibility that there is an external device that is causing your stutter. Whether it's a monitor, a USB hard drive etc. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/260920/periodic-stutterfreeze-every-5-seconds-on-windows-/
