Once again, ease of the gun on m&k gets it neutered for everybody. It now has a worse ttk than 140 handcannons. It was a 1.0 second ADS ttk @120 RPM. I believe it was a 0.8 ttk hipfire @ 150 RPM. 130 RPM drives that ttk closer to 1 second. Why they chose to go this route instead of simply increasing hipfire damage falloff so hipfire isn't as effective at range is beyond me. This is a mistake.
Edit: Love to see the coward who downvoted this actually respond and explain why it's a good idea to make one of the most interesting exotics in the game basically irrelevant.

A gun that you dont even have to aim in order to use shouldnt have a competitive time to kill. It is still better than 120 hand cannons at their job and you still dont have to aim it.
-
Edited by Q: 2/4/2022 6:59:48 PMNo they didn’t imo, it should place it in line with other scouts (job wise)
-
I would have destroyed the range while hip firing instead of reducing the hip fire rof but I don’t really care since I don’t use it and hate playing against.
-
It is more versatile than a 140 handcannon and has the ability to increase damage without kills. Now it will kill 0.06 seconds (or something close) slower than a 140. This seems absolutely fair to me and if you can peak shooting and strafe then it won’t be an issue. It’s still better than all 120’s and they are still pretty good. It’s just not OP anymore.
-
Worse ttk than 140’s? How? You still move fast when firing from the hip, its not like the damage got changed either. Maybe now you guys will use it like an actual scout rifle instead of a glorified last word lol.
-
I think it brings it more in line with being a scout rifle.

Edited by KungFooGrip2404: 2/4/2022 4:43:48 AMIt is going to be a monster in PvE. 20% vorpal, cranial stacks and now 40% more damage against red bars. And last but not least anti-barrier.

For every proponent of DMT, there has been the same if not more crying about a nerf. The complaints will never end, and the Bungie community can never be satisfied
-
This is sadly what bungo does. If it's something that works well on mnk ruin it. If it's something that remotely competes with hand cannons ruin it. Dmt was fine, barely used n no complaints until they decided to buff it for controller. Then it saw a big jump in usage. Now it's being ruined in a way no one will use it. Its especially funny that Last Word has been unusable trash on mnk n a ridiculous aim bot on controller for years with no changes. This apparently doesn't warrant any attention for years and still wasn't mentioned in the twab. God forbid mnk has a fun weapon that works better than it does on controller. Better nerf it, buff it then completely ruin it under a year's time lol. Since this fire rate nerf isn't combined with a ghost bullet fix this gun is effectively dead and might as well be removed as well as refunding all the people that just bought the ornament for it.
-
It don’t think it’ll kill it the nerf will hurt it don’t get me wrong but it’s still gonna be used
-
Bungie is treating it like a handcannon even though hipfire has ghost bullets. While handcannons have massive hit boxes and bullet magnetism. So now dmt is kinda useless. Since it won't compete in hipfire range since of the ghost bullets and will have a bad ttk.

Considering DMT can have seriously more range than 140's, it probably shouldn't be outright outgunning them and not even require 3 precision hits.

Edited by Ryan Foxling: 2/3/2022 11:10:35 PMThe only downside of DMT was random, it is super random gun, but this gun can fight with smg's and sidearms on their range and with pulses and hand cannons on their range. DMT has the best peek shoot potential, I started to use DMT 3 weeks ago, I actually perform the same or even better with it than hand cannons, but I'm actually don't even need to try. I think they nerfed it, because Beyond Light isn't the main DLC to sell now and not because it was too strong on MnK. They actually should have done that the season it was released but it's the same as stasis, if they still making money from it they don't going to nerf it.
-
Are you surprised? For ages now they make weapons and armour to make us play... giving them an actual exotic meaning. Then later they just kill it ready for the next tedious crap.
-
Lol, oh well. You didn't see this coming? It's the same pattern for 6+ years. Just expect any popular weapon or exotic to get nerfed after a while.
-
Why Bungie? Why? I don't even use the gun that often since I'm on console, but why are you essentially making this gun irrelevant?
