The new weapon trailer’s portion of gun customization shows a gun with the chemical formula of NaCl (and Hg)
Thats salt. (And mercury)
Salt guns are used to kill flies
Savathuun is a fly.

Edited by ReiFlexx: 11/4/2023 7:42:20 AM[SOLVED] The "Empirical Evidence" sidearm does not refer to a Salt Gun. It is a chemistry reference for the process of finding the EMPIRICAL formula (list of the basic elements) for something through combustion analysis (burn it). But there's a more specific hint of the meaning by using the elements, name "empirical evidence" and way/order the set of numbers on of the back of the gun, and what numbers represented: 16 17...the atomic number for Sulfur (S) , chlorine (Cl) 32.066 = atomic weight of Sulfur (S) 11 = atomic number for Sodium (Na) 200.59 = atomic weight of Mercury (Hg) The above placement of these numbers are very similar to published NIH** medical science experiments showing (empirical evidence) using different solution combinations of Sodium(Na) with either Chlorine(Cl), or Sulfur(S) to show how quickly Mercury can be removed from inner ear tissue samples stored in a preservative solution. *hint, hint* The two solutions used were Sodium (11) with either Sulfur(Na2S = 11+16) and Chlorine(NaCl 11+17) The result (empirical evidence) published was ...
" ..rapid elimination of Hg from auditory ossicles stored in preservatives containing Hg, our studies show ... the extraction of Hg is quicker in sodium sulfide than in an isotonic solution of sodium chloride."
I think it's an easter egg that says, "This Gun is evidence we tried our best to preserve Mercury but couldn't, and now we'd like to stop hearing about removing Mercury" ** https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3439912/

Not sure about the trailer, but I just got a sidearm that has Na Cl Hg S on the side (and I think the two triangles are supposed to represent light and dark). NaCl is of course salt, HgS is mercury sulfide, also known as cinnabar. Makes me wonder if there's something to that...

Damn I thought savathun was a moth cuz she attracted to the light

therefore, if you bring it into crucible... it should strengthen from the salt of the playerbase.
-
Well they had to do something with all the salt on the forums.
-
Noticed that too, huh? I thought it was pretty funny and glad the developers are embracing the meme

Edited by RationalSea4: 2/3/2022 6:22:00 PMMoth mommy is actually a very sxy moth Savathicc

Good, my guardian can use it when he retires to his porch to keep people off his grass.

A salt gun you say? Definitely gonna be the meta in crucible...
-
We need to dual wield this with a fly swatter

Salt gun, and (anarchy if it was still good) best space magic exterminator in the cosmos.
