Dear Bungie,
I am Guardian4364#1969. This is a name you bestowed upon me the day i returned to Destiny 2, a game which I longed for over the entirety of my lack of means to access said game. I am glad to be back and i am a proud member of the community spending every free moment trying to become as strong as possible. I am, however, plagued by an innocuous and yet so prevalent piece of the puzzle that slowly disheartens every time i see it pop up in kill or communication feeds.
I speak, of course, about the generic and arbitrary placeholder name you deemed fit to place over my actual tag. Although my name was not offensive, nor was it in any way a deviation from the guidelines set forth since day one, you changed it anyway. You can understand how I see other individuals with names of their choosing, proud to have a say in their piece of this universe. Sometimes i see a concise name in a rumble match and i know they are going to win and when it happens, i know it is because they have taken purchase in this game as the person who they set out to be.
In conclusion, I have spent many countless hours trying to get up to speed with these PC Maniacs, long time devoted killers and guardians of temperament i can only dream of coming close to. In all of this time I have felt like a nobody. I feel robbed of my identity and ostracized on the leaderboards. I see other concise and unique names and i miss the feeling of having my own. Please give me back what you have taken as you have absolutely no idea how important it is to me.
I do not wish to be Guardian4364. I do not wish to be just some other myopic variable in an otherwise machine that would sooner ignore my plight than address it. I only wish to be [Zero Light].

Hi there. Players cannot edit their Bungie Names at this time. A feature that will allow players to edit their names is expected to be implemented close to the launch of Witch Queen next month. You read more details in this week's TWAB: https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/50975
