PC - Getting Anteater and other Disconnects? Try this...
I've been having a lot of issues with disconnects since the 30th Anniversary launched. After trying to get support and not receiving any useful feedback, I decided to review everything I could in my event viewer, from application updates, to successful installs and failed installs... lots of entries... hundreds of thousands...
However, a pattern finally started to emerge... I noticed an increased amount of CPU-usage entries that would start skyrocketing around these disconnects. I have a 12-core CPU, so it wasn't about not having enough umph.
I went back and noticed that I updated my BlueStacks emulator right around the same time of the 30th Anniversary release. The new BlueStacks emulator was refusing to launch without Hardware Acceleration enabled; the previous version would just give me a performance warning about it. As a result, on my AMD-build, I enabled SVM (AMD's version of Hardware Acceleration, Secure Virtual Machine).
So, kicks and giggles... I decided to disable SVM in UEFI and the drops have disappeared. Not just diminished significantly, but they are gone entirely. I don't get PLUMs from BattlEye timing out, I don't get a handful of ANTEATERs followed by other hard disconnect codes.
I'd recommend if you are on PC and having similar issues, check to see if you have Hardware Acceleration (Intel) or SVM (AMD) enabled in BIOS/UEFI and disable it to see if it helps for you like it did for me. Additionally, I am running Windows 11 Pro and have noticed additional issues with Windows not playing well with SVM, so that's something else to be aware of...
But there may be some incompatibility with BattlEye and AMD processors with SVM enabled or more, but I think it'd be worth other people giving feedback yay or nay to see if Bungie needs to look into it.
TL/DR
UEFI/BIOS Settings -> Disabled Hardware Acceleration (Intel) or SVM (AMD)
