To Orb or Not to Orb... (Masterworked Weapons or Orb Mods)
If this really would improve the quality of weapons in some way like having an additional perk on Legendaries, then... I guess?
BUT, if it doesn't do anything like that and it is just for the process of weapon crafting... then I doubt I'll like it. I will not deny the appeal of something like Lament generating Orbs and granting you Protective Light through its own utility, but not only would the change hurt certain builds that utilize helmet slots currently, but it also sounds like it will hurt weapon combinations as well.
Like, am I going to be able to use an Arc fusion rifle to generate orbs and a Solar sword to generate orbs at the same time like we can currently? Or are the elements dependent on the element of your helmet? It would be a game changer. That is undeniable. The question is if it's a good change or not. And we know that a lot of us right now like using Orbs for Charged with Light builds using the Taking Charge mod.
Think about what happened with sunsetting. I think that would've been fine to me if there were a lot more weapons being introduced each season. But that didn't happen, so even I didn't like that.
Is there another way?
...What if you made another Charged with Light mod? One where rapid kills with masterworked weapons granted one stack of Charged with Light directly or something? I don't really think I can come up with anything specific other than that right now.
EDIT: Actually, the above suggestion... might be a bad idea unless you think getting 4 stacks at once from a multikill is a good quality.
