It’s going to suck, especially if the mods are energy type specific. If I have to put on a Solar helmet to generate orbs with a Solar weapon, it going to be very frustrating.
The only upside I see is that Wavesplitter will now be able to activate its own perk. This could be handled another way however…

the orb mods with have an energy type tied to them so something like, Kinetic weapons generate orbs, Solar weapons generate orbs etc. it will not matter what energy type your helmet is. You can have a solar helmet and a void orb mod. it will also cost less to change master worked armor energy types.

That seems to be the case, based on them talking about energy type. Who knows for sure though.

Idk. Maybe they’ll do something really cool with masterwork weapons to make up for it. Going to have to wait and see but I’m not getting my hopes up. Going to start experimenting with other ways to get charged with light easy for normal raids.
