Prediction from Bungie's next Dev meeting:
"OMG, have you seen all of the negative feedback we're getting? Should we backtrack on it and just allow any weapon to make orbs"
"No, that would make too much sense. Just blame it on Steve from accounting, continue anyways, and then we'll nerf a bunch of stuff to take their attention away from the real problems"

Yeah, same thing happened with vaulting and sunsetting. Even the people who said it was a good idea retracted their statement and admitted it was just horrible
