I love how they acted like it was a good thing.
"many different weapons ask you to burn hard-earned Masterwork materials on a weapon that you may only be using for a few hours, just to generate Orbs. That … seemed like a tall order"
Except now your weapon damage type has to match your helmet affinity just to slot the mod. (One that you could be using for ammo finders or power preservation etc)
That means only one weapon at a time will create orbs, unless your special and heavy run the same element.
Well played Bungie, you really did us a favor.

It’s all lip service. It was done to give adept weapons intrinsic perks. Adept weapons are gonna be OP crutches used to stomp in the Witch Queen.

"many different weapons ask you to burn hard-earned Masterwork materials on a weapon that you may only be using for a few hours, just to generate Orbs. That … seemed like a tall order" Now if you want to use a weapon for a few hours you have to pay ascendant shards every time you want to switch weapons

After Witch Queen launches you'll be able to change armor affinities on fully masterworked gear for an upgrade module and some glimmer. All in all it's still a horrible change.
I love how they acted like it was a good thing. "many different weapons ask you to burn hard-earned Masterwork materials on a weapon that you may only be using for a few hours, just to generate Orbs. That … seemed like a tall order"
Their reasoning is so lame and weak that they even fail to grasp that if we're just going to use the weapon for a few hours EVER, we probably won't masterwork it at all. And if we use that same weapon just for a few hours BUT RECURRENTLY then we'll masterwork it regardless. The mod slots are much more valuable for other mods than for Orb-creating mods. Bungie really likes to create "solutions" for "problems" that don't exist. Meanwhile, more important, real issues are dragged on for months or even years without any care from Bungie.
