That was exactly my thoughts. They fixed an issue for a small handful of exotic weapons by creating a problem for all legendary weapons. I don't think it will make a massive difference in most gameplay but it is really unnecessary.
The artifact change is good, and the armor affinity change is great, EXCEPT for one major flaw:
We just got to the point where making armor sets has been easier than ever given how you can automatically swap gear using DIM. The problem with this change is that if let's say you have a piece of gear used in 2 different sets with 2 different affinities, DIM will not automatically change the affinity because it costs materials, this makes it incredibly non-user friendly. I'd like to see them address this prior to Witch Queen.

Dude I've already invested hecka mw mats. Let me change affinities for free. Glimmer is negligible and so is upgrade modules for alot of players w masterworked armor, at that point it's just an API hindrance.

So true. Honestly I'd donate 20 Million Glimmer to Banshee to change my element for free. Or just get tf rid of it.
