These mods only further amplify an issue introduced with holders tbh. Nobody uses them because there is no room on armor to support the sheer energy cost and their inferiority over scav mods.
It’s going to be the same here, nobody wants to remove finders since they are just too superior. If the mod worked for all guns then maybe but they will only work for specific elements which is even worse since MAX 2 guns will make orbs.
Although the artefact change is good, it’s another 1 step forward and 2 steps back with the orb nerf…

Was about to pre order witch queen . But I think I’ll hold off for it but. It makes no sense giving my money on a game.that really don’t respect there players time and honestly they just fine ways to drain all the fun out of the game

Typical Bungie moment, fix a problem using the most -blam!--backwards "solution" possible. People wanted catalystless exotics to make orbs. Nobody asked for this unnecessary and blatantly poorly-hidden nerf to the PvE sandbox as a whole.

Confirmed true. Creating a mod that every player will run is bad game design. Mods are supposed to encourage building not restrictions. Brain dead game design. Most likely willfull ignorance from bungie to -blam!- us in some way. Seriously regretting my pre-order..

I mean we literally got Dungeon armour that gives us "5 slots" I knew something was gunna happen with mods when they dropped this armour with 5 slots. yes it only applies to artefact mods but with crafting who knows what they have planned. still a -blam!- move, dumb, adds restrictions that aint needed and basically makes masterworking weapons worthless. glad I cleared my vault of most of my masterworked weapons. Also this idea sounds like a lazy -blam!- cop out for not adding catalysts for existing exotics that yet dont have any, so instead "here you can make orbs now" oh but you need to use a mod slot while we are probs gunna offer you armour with 5 slots in WQ 100% calling this now.

I quit Destiny 2 half-way into Season 14 and came back half-way into season 15. This orb change (and all the other BS) is de-motivating me again. Was already feeling zero interest in Witch Queen. The mod system is already terrible. There are too many mods and they are too expensive. And now more mod BS.

There really has to be a ridiculous upside to this to compensate. Like each kill being an orb, maybe multikill/streaks spawn a fountain of orbs. And the orb that spawns has to give back more super energy than it currently does. Only then it might be worth to use… maybe

What was the minimum back then, 4.. 5... nightstalker could make like 15 depending on how many tethers they got. Ninja nerfing scavenger mods was already a shady thing to do.. they said we should use ammo finder mods. So now they’re taking away ammo finder mods just so someone can make orbs?

How many ppl do you know masterwork weapons to lvl 7 for the kill counter..NOBODY masterwork weapons pppft..nope worthless waste of time ENTER Destiny 2 LITE where everyone gets a trophy and everyone is equal powered no matter what they use. THIS is Bungie makeing a problem nobody -blam!- about..then a -blam!- fix to said problem aformentioned I seen this happen in SWG by sony (everyone gets a jedi) 3months later the game crumbled to dust.. and WOW exploded from the new influx of players..go figure

Based on the presented information, it's a pretty bad change. One of the CMs said they'd give more info later that "may change your mind", but it just looks like a straight nerf to things like Super uptime, CWL builds, Explosive Light, those leg health mods, Star Eaters, and some other things I probably missed Like, I know Bungie always Monkey's paws it, but whatever withheld info would need to be pretty convincing to make me not think this is a overall negative change

Do they just sit around a table in a conference room somewhere and brainstorm ideas that cannibalize and/or nerf existing content?!? It’s like there is some Bungie law manual that requires two dumb things be done to the game for every one good idea. I just don’t get it.

Just saw that part of the twab. I just don’t understand how Bungie can constantly keep making such bad decisions. Having to use mods for orbs is worse than the situation we were in to begin with. All they had to do was allow exotics to generate orbs on multi kills. That’s it. I honestly don’t think anyone working on this game actually plays it outside of the office.
