(Rant) Y’all should stop hating on Bungie so much

Bungie is not being run by a bunch of programming interns who don’t have a clue about game design. It’s a multi-million dollar company. [i]They know what they’re doing.[/i] If there’s an issue with the game that they haven’t fixed yet, odds are it would be difficult for [i]any[/i] developer to fix it.

Do you think that they sit around playing video games all day? These people have jobs. They get paid to work all week every week to fix issues and make new content for us. Rome wasn’t built in a day. We can wait a month or two for a video game.

Most game developers are run by teams of people. Blaming the entire company does nothing when it’s always the people in senior positions (10-20% of the personnel) who make decisions about things like what kind of content to put behind paywalls, how much you should grind for rewards, what items to nerf and/or buff.
I’m not saying we should stop making posts about changes we want, but a bunch of rude blanket statements that lump everyone at Bungie together won’t solve anyone’s problems.
I know it’s mostly immature people saying these things. But at the risk of putting my neck on the cringe chopping block, I’m going to go ahead and post this anyways. Because I honestly think a lot of people need to hear it.

It’s the fact that they do and despite having the resources to fix it they don’t. Bungie isn’t some mom and pop dev. They are a multi million dollar company that just keeps making the same dumb mistakes. They get what they deserve. Praise them when they do good and bash them when they do something dumb. It’s nobodies fault but their own that they do far more stupid -blam!- than good -blam!-. Time wasn’t built in a day. Your right. It also wasn’t built after years and years with the end product looking like it was built in a day. That’s what bungie does.

Dude … they are going with minimal effort and maximum output, making your playtime as extensive as possible with recycled content, not fixing anything relevant but only things that may affect your playtime negatively and at the same time cutting content people have paid for to make it more manageable for the small team that even deals with this game. People have a right to be upset. Mostly it’s because they love the game and hate to see how it’s handled. It’s understandable.

Exotic armor that buffs sidearms and you didn’t think to check that? There are multiple stupid mistakes and/or oversights each season that are no one’s fault but Bungie.

4 RepliesMost of the complaints made IMO are regarding the BASICS required for an online MMO/Shooter/whatever D2 is. Some "game quality" complaints I've seen escalate over the last few months include: - lag across activities and platforms since S15 began is insane! - Bugs and Crashes in PAID content is escalating (Gambit, DOE & New Dungeon) - Connection Stability to D2 Servers seems to be steadily worsening - In-game modifications have created an even bigger imbalance instead (eg: Respawn times in PvP & Super Ability Scaling) - FPS and Graphics issues across all platforms - Fostering a feeling of isolation for solo players : stacking becomes a form bullying in some player's eyes These are genuine issues I have also experienced, and I agree that calling Bungie as a whole out is incorrect and misdirected. However, as paying customers would feel, surely the game they love must flow smoothly without crashes, bugs, lag, and Destiny Servers keeping a steady connection? As far as "balance" goes, it is for those whose game DON"T crash and whose connections are solid to make a statement. Thank you for the rant, however I must point out that by far and larger, this multi-million dollar company is not delivering the outstanding experience promised. Rant over.

I think the whole point is we're in a community where people expect to be catered to, when from a business standpoint, it is impossible to make everybody happy. You can make the most perfect game, do everything people ask for, and you'll still have people crying about it in the forums. There are parts of Bungie's decisions I disagree with, things I would like to see fixed as well, but I don't whine about it like a 3 year old having a tantrum. Instead, I'd rather put my energy into being a better player, and enjoying the game with friends

Recycling -blam!- over and over, running the same 4 activities, a ridiculous power grind system that only serves to bar people with responsibilities from playing endgame, the list goes on and on.
