First off, I just want to make it clear that what I’m going to say is my honest and serious opinion.
It seems that in the past few weeks the forums have been a little less ban heavy. I am pointing this out because I appreciate it when people are allowed to speak their minds, and I’m not alone.
There was recently a post regarding the Trans emblem that contained some heated conversations, but to my knowledge it wasn’t banned. You also didn’t ban Guardians wishing each other Merry Christmas, so good job there. The Ninjas have also been more friendly lately, and sometimes kind of funny. (Humor appreciated)
Even though I’m trying to keep this post focused on the positive things that the Ninjas/Forum managers have been doing lately, it would be unfair to acknowledge only the steps that you’ve taken in the right direction while ignoring the ones taken in the wrong. For example, I was deeply frustrated by the forum Ninjas regarding the treatment Veteran’s Day received. It was unnecessary and extremely distasteful.
Here’s my point: When you try to manipulate/micromanage your community by limiting what we can/can’t discuss on these forums based solely your “political/moral” views, you will only alienate and turn off players who don’t hold aligning views. Remember that Destiny’s player base is vast and diverse, so the less you ban based off of differing world viewpoints, the more inclusive and friendly these forums will be. (though banning a post due to perverse or profane language is completely understandable)
Keep up the good work and happy New Years!
