D2 was created for the Windows OS by Vicarious Visions. Everything on the PC version be it Steam or Microsoft was created around that fact including the anti-cheat systems (which Battleye is only one layer of) and the anti-ddoss system. Bungie has said nothing about modifications to allow PCs to play D2 on another OS and trying to force D2 to run using a emulator (yes no matter what arguments you say about Wine it is a emulator to impersonate the OS a game was created to play on) will result in a ban. If you want to use another OS then you have to use Stadia.
