First you are going to want to masterwork your oven. This will lower the amount of ingredients needed to bake treats.
Next make sure you buy bountiful harvest and essential harvest from Eva. They return random ingredients and essence of dawnings when completing Eva’s bounties. They cost 40 dawning spirits each to purchase.
Do not bake anything unless you have a bounty that tells you to. Always get a repeatable bounty then bake the treat it asks you to bake.
Here’s why.
The repeatable bounties from Eva that cost 3,000 glimmer will only tell you to bake treats.
If you have the second and third upgrades purchased from Eva you will get XP, 10 bright dust, 1 essence of dawning and some random ingredients.
Which is more than what you will get if you bake treats with out a bounty and even though the rewards don’t sound like much they add up fast.
For every 10 bounties completed you will get 10 free essence of dawning that can go towards the completion of another bounty.
I recommend gathering essence of dawning and ingredients from activities and then you can just keep doing the repeatable bounties at the end of the day or week until you run out of materials needed.
I did this last night. I had a little over 1,000 essence of dawnings (from the actives I did during the week) and kept doing the repeatable bounties until I ran out. It costed me around 300,000 glimmer (had to visit Spider once to get more glimmer) and when I was done I was rewarded with,
• 1,160 bright dust
• 500,000 xp (from rank 312 to 317) +5 levels.
• +1 Power bonus.
If I had just baked treats simply because I had the materials to do so and didn’t do the repeatable bounties I wouldn’t of gotten 1,160 bright dust or increased my season pass level by 5 ranks.
Best of all if you have the companion app you can just sit in orbit and do them.

I thought you were going to talk about real baking treats that you make at home which reminded me of Bungie's old cookbook they had once for that you could purchase.

I feel like this Dawning Event is something more rewarding for me (especially for new player). You can earn bright dust to buy some ornament, and also dawning weapon as well. Here’s what I thought about “rewarding” means from my experience. 1. Exotic as a bonus. Since I don’t have access to Wrathborn Hunt, I was farmed Essences of Dawning from Expunge and mostly from Lost sector (Dreaming City lost sector can be done less than 2 minutes). I think if new player want to do something typically farm essence but with bonus, go for legend lost sector. Because, you will get a chance an exotic, enchantment cores and glimmers (glimmers to buy some additional bounties) 2. Cooking for everyone, I’ll pay you with Bright Dust. After you farm a lot of essences, you grab additional bounties from Eva. But it will cost glimmer, but you know, you already farm from lost sector. If you complete the bounties, it will chance drop strange coins too. 3. Deliver the cookies. If you deliver the cookies, you will get Rare item, Legendary item, and also Gift Box. I know you can dismantle all of the blue and purple turns into shard and glimmer. 4. Focused the gift into Dawning Weapon. If you focused the Gift Box, you will get Legendary Dawning weapon. If you’re lucky, it will drop cores, and modules too. This was my first Dawning event experience. The rotation wasn’t too bad for me. Managed to get 10k bright dust until today. Not a crazy amount btw. To conclude the rewards you will get: 1. Exotic Armor 2. Bright Dust 3. Legendary Shards 4. Glimmers 5. Strange Coin 6. Enchantment Cores 7. Upgrade Modules 8. God roll Glacioclasm that will stay forever in Vault, jk I love it but I hate the charge time. 9. Other Dawning Weapon.

That's one of the most informative posts I've read on here for a long time. Thanks buddy, I'll remember that for next year....have a good christmas 👍
-
Bungie needs to give this guy something to increase the forums with good info like this. I hope you have a great holiday!
-
Exactly. I know not everyone will care about the bright dust and levels but if you do just think about it like this: every essence of dawning you have is one bright dust if you do this. Over the course of the event that could be thousands of bright dust virtually for free.
-
Don't play.....
-
I find the vanguard repeatables way better for bright dust, in most cases can be done in the opening section of any nightfall. With cookies you spend half your time going from destination to destination which really isn't that efficient. Yeah you can abandon some to try and at least get mostly tower ones but that's 3000 glimmer wasted each time.
-
You eventually hit critical mass for both ingredients and dawning spirit (especially if you’re using the dawning ship). At that point it’s just doing activities for essence and the medallion consumeable a Eva gives you daily. The medallions give you 1-3 gifts after completing a playlist activity. You’ll get about 1 gift in return every 5-7 gifts given. I’ve gotten my god roll glacioclasms and Zephyr. Even managed a decent roll on the Cold Front. Now I’m just looking for a subsistence/firefly or swash Avalanche with a decent mid/long range scope.

I get what your saying, and if bright dust and XP are your main concerns then yes, farm those bounties But All I want is Sub/Res Burst glacio,I am not going to fly everywhere just the deliver single cookies when all I want is gifts in return,so I just bake for people at the tower
-
Or just bake a ton of ghallerdoddles to get purple packages and get a powerful roll on glaciochasm
-
Good strat! I need to remember to pick up those bounties! Thanks 👍
-
or you could just bake for zavala 120 times? https://youtu.be/dwmeeG63B3E

I have been doing this. That bright dust stacks up fast.
