Supers are instant win buttons and im glad people can no longer spam them in the crucible. You complain about bubble being removed from sentinel, but if they get separated it will most likely mean bubble will become a T1-2 super. Lets also be honest and say that being able to make you and your team basically invincible and give your team ground control any time any where is already strong enough even without the option to also be able to have instant kill melees and tracking shield throws that ric off other people; while also having so much DR you need heavy or a counter super to kill you. Also comparing Destiny to CoD or Halo is f**king bulls*it and stupid. Destiny without super spam is still very far from Halo or Cod. In Halo infi all Spartans are the same when they spawn in and they need to fine equipment in the map to alter themselves from anyone else that just spawned. In Destiny every class spawns in with a different class ability and they can never change it only what that ability does, but a hunter will never be able to drop a rift for example. Thirdly increasing the time it takes to get super back isnt artificially increasing the difficulty at least with how things work in D2. They said they wanted to lean more heavily into build crafting and to do that you also need to make abilities not as free anymore without a proper build. You can build into super energy in a variety of ways if you absolutely need your super really often assuming also that you dont have a rally flag to give it to you before you start an encounter. As for pvp personally I would lock everyone to only one super max in completive play anyway, but I guess that would be a lot harder than simply decreasing the regen rate and increasing the time it takes to get a super.
Supers are instant win buttons and im glad people can no longer spam them in the crucible.
Yeah, sure. "Instant Win buttons". Tell me, did that "Instant Win Button" help me kill those three guys just a few minutes ago? Like, how horrible of a person you need to be in characteristics to say "supers are op" when they can die so easy with a little bit of team effort?
You complain about bubble being removed from sentinel, but if they get separated it will most likely mean bubble will become a T1-2 super.
I know that. It still means that Titan bubble makes you absolute defenseless against any super in pvp. With Sentinel Shield you can at least duel a Spectral Blade, an Arc Strider or a Striker. But with it gone when Void 3.0 drops your only hope is to pull your bubble and pray that your shotgun/special weapon is OHK that super before it OHK you... Or hope that your Surpressor Grenade doesn't miss. VEEEEEERY BALANCED. Meanwhile Well of Radiance can be left before you die. It can also improve your damage and heal you and doesn't block your and foes bullets, allowing you to melt the enemy super as a team (especially with Vorpal Weapon perk). And Hunters Shadowshot can deactivate supers still. Slowing and weakening them for super-fast kills with a few bullets anywhere on the body. I fail to see how a Bubble would be then any better choice in pvp. In fact, removing Sentinel from the Bubble just makes the Subclass Tree less potent for pvp.
Lets also be honest and say that being able to make you and your team basically invincible and give your team ground control any time any where is already strong enough even without the option to also be able to have instant kill melees and tracking shield throws that ric off other people
As a Titan Main and years long Top Tree Sentinel player, let me list you all the counters to Bubble. Potent: * Nova Bomb * Thundercrash * Golden Gun * Stormcaller (Landfall) * Chaos Reach * Fists of Havoc * Burning Maul * Arc Strider * Spectral Blades Less potent: * Dawnblade * Hammer of Sol * Nightstalker Bow * Nova Warp * Blade Barrage There are more counters to Bubble than Bubble counters itself. Also, attacking as a group a lonely bubble with just the Titan inside can be easily defeated by melting Armor of Light. And you wanna know an even simpler counter? Walking in while attacking, throwing AoE Grenades on the ground, melting the Armor down, which does not recover without stepping out and back inside the bubble.
Also comparing Destiny to CoD or Halo is f**king bulls*it and stupid. Destiny without super spam is still very far from Halo or Cod. In Destiny every class spawns in with a different class ability and they can never change it only what that ability does, but a hunter will never be able to drop a rift for example.
In Halo (Infinite aside) every Spartan has the same mobility, the same jump and the melee/grenades accessible. Meanwhile in Destiny we have Hunters with a much more superior jump for PvE and PvP in particular. A dodge to break off aim assistance (if I remember right this is still a thing?), all their supers on higher Tiers, and stuff like Throwing Knifes (OHK), Flux Grenade (OHK) and several Abilities that are outright annoying to play against. Warlocks can heal or buff damage, yes... But unlike Hunters they put themself at a risk when casting said Rift. And Titans too. I had it today like 5 times that a Hunter just kept running, switched to his shotgun, jumped over my barricade with full speed and shotgunned me away, while I, as a Titan, was still stuck in my barricade cast time without any chance to defend. And that Hunter attacked me from like 5 meters away. VEEEEEERY BALANCED ;) Aside from that, we know Destiny is still more Destiny than Halo/CoD... But the fact that we shifted more into that direction concerns us.
Thirdly increasing the time it takes to get super back isnt artificially increasing the difficulty at least with how things work in D2.
That point is about PvE. Not PvP. A super can save your -blam!- in PvE High Endgame.
They said they wanted to lean more heavily into build crafting and to do that you also need to make abilities not as free anymore without a proper build.
And by doing so they are going to drive off many players because they add more complexity to a game franchise that was original designed (back in 2013 Alpha Footage named) to be "buillding on simplistic systems".
As for pvp personally I would lock everyone to only one super max in completive play anyway, but I guess that would be a lot harder than simply decreasing the regen rate and increasing the time it takes to get a super.
Well, they could just spawn you with full super and disable super regeneration in that mode. Problem solved. Then it is on the player to use their super wisely.
