Most weapons in D2 aren’t worth using. Shocked?! Me too! However, if they refilled the weapons system to a Borderlands style build, then it would make getting that special weapon all kinds of satisfying (not to mention make more sense). It’s already similar with the different foundries, just throw in Cabal, VEX, and Hive and it gives variety and context! Think about it; wouldn’t it be awesome to kill a Hive, then pick up a special variety of launcher they just dropped and start killing the other hive?! Or to have a weapon with a bayonets (Monte Carlo) dramatically increase your melee damage and range?
Just an idea; what are your thoughts people?!

Borderlands came out years before this game was even concieved. Borderlands was way ahead of this game and these guys tried to copy some concept of it. It didn't work though because of PvP. The guns started to screw up the PvP sandbox is they just come out with better and special guns all the time. It happened in D2 when they brought out unique pinnacle gun rewards. Look what happened to that. They sunsetted them because they dominate meta, and if they do something better, they're afraid it might ruin the game even more. Borderlands and Borderlands 2 were fun because they started out as unique looter shooters. The concept of loot is uninhibited, so they can create as many unique games making it fun and interesting without breaking the game. Once you start catering to a live service, or semi-live service games, you start to become greedy and prioritize sustainability instead of creating fun games. Creativity is then driven by greed instead of actual fun. Just like what happened to D2. Borderlands 3 was trying to shift to that paradigm by introducing raids and stuff, but I'm glad they didn't go all the way because it would ruin the game the way the Borderlands system was originally made. They started coming up with OP guns that you can grind. And that lost any appeal of fun. Once you add the grind element, it becomes work, and the essence of fun and games disappear. The trait that made Borderlands so good and fun to play with is the uniqueness of the guns, not the grind to get the gun. That's what made Borderlands so popular in the first place. Borderlands still remains my all time and best looter shooter of all time.
