Not paying £60-£100 for seasons and dlc I can’t guarantee I’ll get to keep or that won’t be crap. Content being removed and the game being, just in general, a mess every patch that comes out is now tiring *just look at trials matchmaking and stasis*. Somethings take almost a year to fix!!! How??? Some of the stuff that needs nerfing/buffing hasn’t even been touched. A subclass upgrade each season?? Bungie delayed witch queen and yet they can’t be bothered to fit in some much needed upgrades.
The grind for even getting a *good* weapon is so exhausting and I don’t even want to play destiny after getting a new weapon because I’m burnt out.
Strikes are boring. Even the new update to the rank system takes too long. Nightfalls might as well be one a weekfalls. Who wants to play corrupted/exodus crash over and over?????? Just randomise it.
Crucible is kind of *fun* sometimes but the lack of patches, maps and weapon viability sucks!
Gambit? What’s gambit? I thought it was portal: rocket tracking adventures.
I think just in general I’m burnt out as I really do love the destiny universe but the lack of care being put into it is actually starting to affect me. I don’t enjoy watching my money being flushed away and I definitely hate not being to replay the content I purchased. I can’t even replay beyond light without creating a new character for goodness sake!
The point to take away from this is Bungie can do better and don’t be like me who immediately preordered content before witch queen. It really isn’t worth it.

So I picked up a different game the other day for £5 quid including the starter pack. I’ve spent a couple days on it and haven’t even got through all the content. Really puts it in clear letters how little and undeveloped content you get for 40-60 quid in an expansion.

For players who have lost all year 1 and year 2 content we don’t even get a partial return of the money we spent. Wouldn’t mind if they offered players who spent money on destiny 2 and the subsequent dlc that’s been removed a whole year of free seasons. Or a large amount of silver. But we get squat.
To each their own. I personally always get the deluxe of expansions anyway. I like the game and will continue to play the game. If you don't, that's cool too.

Edited by ThatGuy: 11/7/2021 11:23:18 PM100% depends on who you ask. For me its definitely worth it. I can easily justify spending $100 on the deluxe edition of Which Queen. I don't play a lot of other games any more and I will put in well over 100 hours in destiny over the next year +. While the content vault is kinda shitty when you call it what is it, its also a necessary evil at this point. Bungie flat said they couldn't maintain Destiny with how big it had gotten and the only alternative I can think of to the DCV would be Destiny 3. That all said its also vaulting 3 year old content, its not going to be supported forever. "I think just in general I’m burnt out" TBH I think this is 100% the real issue. Take a break from time to time. The only reason I still enjoy Destiny is because I take large breaks when the game starts getting stale or isn't feeling enjoyable. If you want my 2 cents, take a break until you actually want to play Destiny.

There is no good reason for witch queen deluxe + 30th anniversary should be $150 bucks like there is no possible way that its should be worth that
-
Pfft at least you guys can afford them if you want them. I can't afford either the 30th anniversary celebration or Witch Queen 😭😭 being highly disabled and unemployable in the UK sucks because once you're down onnyour luck the only way to go is further down 😭😭

Everyone cares.

How do you know all the content in the anniversary pack and witch queen deluxe isn’t going to be worth it? Because strikes are boring? Hell that’s a big reason I’m getting all that content. I love playing this game and want to play new stuff. I’m not going to sit around and wait for Bungie to give me a lot of free content. I’m going to pay for the good stuff right away. Play that and the drip fed free stuff everyone else gets. Maybe it won’t be worth it in the end. The anniversary content is asking quite a bit of money without necessarily indicating it will be significantly more content than I would normally get from a $10 season. But I love playing the game. I’m willing to take a chance on it.

I largely disagree but its all personal preference really. There probably is some burnout mixed in there too. Take a break, and maybe see you around in future... if not, good hunting on whatever game you land on!

If its really that bad of a value proposition for you, I can't blame you for not buying WQ; I even agree with you. For me, my $100 (USD to be fair...) Goes a long way for me on Destiny, since I put about 500 hours/year into the game. The game definitely has issues, I would never deny that, but I think most of then are not as extreme as you display in your post. Gambit is in the worst spot right now, and Crucible isnt great either. I was having fun for a while in Trials, but im not liking the direction they are taking it now. As a mainly PvE player, Im having a really good time with my friends. When there isnt much content, I can always just go play another game for a while.

Depends on the person I guess. To me, it is worth it. I used to Play Star Wars games like Kotor Series, Uncharted Series, Tomb Raider Series, SWTOR.ect. Destiny became a New Experience, New Story ect. Its my Home game now.
