Played one match when it first came out and it turned me off.

All of Bungie events are boring.
-
Agree completely. I appreciate them trying but they are not fun..I hate that stupid moon lost sector anyway, and have gotten it constantly xD
-
Even though I only experienced the Haunted Forest once it was still better than the boring lost sectors. Way too many exploding ads here and there, it felt too cramped, there were only like 3 to 4 lost sectors and it felt repetitive and even though there are other lost sectors on the EDZ and the Cosmodrome they are not included. Anyway I prefer the Haunted Forest because it was actually more spooky and dark which was everything I loved about the event. Now it's just bright and just a lost sector with some decorations and it gets old really quickly. I didn't finish the event this year though and the event was not fun to do this year unfortunately.

I had fun doing the haunted forest. I absolutely hated doing the haunted sectors. They are cramped and overfilled with mobs that flood you from all directions. The pumpkin bosses like to randomly stop taking damage. One of the sectors has the pumpkins teleport if you overwhelm them with supers, another has the boss that likes to teleport as you throw a bomb to take down its shield. Overall the haunted sectors were incredibly boring and not fun whatsoever.
-
They are both awful.
-
I like it a lot more than the haunted forest. These are faster to do and typically more action packed.
-
Of course you do. Because it's not here lol

Edited by Dredgen Wolf: 11/1/2021 3:37:16 AMI liked the Haunted Forest, it felt like Halloween and getting chased by the monster made it nice and fun. I actually liked the Forest, had a nice spooky feel. Forest was nice and long, felt like it was worth it, I prefer longer events anyway. Haunted Sectors just isn't the same, also Glint gets really annoying after the first Sector you do, would really be nice to be able to mute that little bugger.

Edited by TheShadow: 10/31/2021 5:23:31 PM
"Blind hate"
Expressing an option as the OP did is not anywhere near the stupid comment some have and will make. It doesn't take brain surgery to see how unimaginative, uncreative, lazy it was for AAA gaming company in 2021 to use a stupid lost sector. How about taking (((the millions))) the player base has given them and actually put it to use creating actual new content with fresh ideas? After 7 years of them reusing assets like they did in D1 having us run backwards through strikes for quest, etc... It's not hard to see the minimal effort being put into this game. It's not blind hate, it's just stupid to see our money going to waste. The only time we ever actually got anything new that most of the community enjoyed was when Activision was around that provided VV. And guess what? Bungie made sure they removed most of that 🤦♂️

Sad but true.

Edited by DemonicDmouse: 10/31/2021 10:42:16 PMWhy can’t they just have a haunted planet. Jump in, and it is a free for all of alllll things. Guardians, enemies, but with an objective. Make it only for one night.

I liked classic cars more than what's on the road now... :(
-
They both suck 🥸
-
I prefer the haunted lost sectors, honestly. My only real complaint about it is that the number of headless ones killed shouldnt be limited to 10. If you can kill more than 10 in 5 minutes, you should get these points as well.
-
Agreed. The Haunted Forest was way more fun.
turned me off
You got turned on? You might need a therapist if you get turned on like that

Once I had the pages done I had no interest to do any more of the sectors. Haunted Forest I would play just for the fun of it. That said, I do understand they want to mix things up a bit and not just do the same old every time.
-
The loot drops were garbage in the forest. Lost sectors are way better, and quicker.
-
The haunted sectors are quick and drop more loot. It would be nice if the had both but I like this change of pace.
-
The fact that it's faster than the Forest is all I needed to hear. Seasonal activities should be fun "participation medals" to say that you were here. Grinding 23K candy and 194 pages isn't casual fun. It barely qualifies as "fun". For the Festival, there should be no special event. Just put on a mask and play whatever you want to collect candy and pages. Then turn the candy and pages into Eva. No conversion. No forced seasonal activity. And, make EVERYTHING have candy and pages. No pages after each encounter in VoG? That's terrible, and not at all "play how you want" as Bungie repeatedly swears they want us to do.
-
The lost sectors were the most boring unimaginative event I have played on D2 since launch. I grinded all the triumphs because I want the achievements, it was physically painful. I just got my 7 year old into D2 and I was honestly excited all year about not warning him about the trap door at the end of Haunted Forest. He gets spooked easily and wanted to see his reaction. Instead we got some bland lost sector experience that made no sense.
-
It's at least something different. That's about all it was good for. I don't think it's much better, but at least it's different.
-
Look, if they'd just put haunted forest back in, everyone would've moaned that it was the same old thing as last year. So they did something different, now people are moaning about that. Bungie can't win, they never can.
-
Nah I liked this better. But got immediately turned off by the page nerfing.
-
I hated the haunted forest. I dont miss it at all. It was fun for about 2 runs, then I was done. Same with haunted sectors. After a day or two it becomes a boring grind.
