Eliksni have wallowed for centuries in the fallout of the travelers cowardice.
The traveler has done nothing but run from the darkness until it physically couldn't run away anymore, and it's done that regardless of the good people it has hurt.
The Traveler made the eliksni a target by being near them and lifting their civilization, and then rug-pulled them like the most ruthless evil.
Due to this, the Traveler should send ghosts to turn dead eliksni into lightbearers, and they should become a playable race.
They've suffered for too long, and I want to play an eliksni. So bungie should make them a playable race, too. It's a win-win!

*Traveler reading the post* Traveler: ight Imma head out 🏃

Edited by Ty’Riis, Kell of the Hood: 10/27/2021 11:28:40 PMThe Traveller is a sociopath. It tried to leave us too but Rasputin shot it.

then someone will come along make the argument to have Cabal lightbearers since they did have ownage over IT for an entire DLC. Then you'll have someone come along and make it overly political by saying we should be inclusive of the Scorn since even the Hive will be lightbearers...then the game goes from being an entertaining distraction, to another Last of Us II

Let's give the light to a culture of pirates and scoundrels. What could possibly go wrong?

We dont' really (fully) know what The Traveler's history is.....or what her agenda is. We have hints....but not much more than that. But I think the better question isn't so much "Why did she abandon the Eliksni".....but rather "Why does she stay and fight for Humanity, when she didn't before?" I think the answer that that question is that humans----for our other shortcomings and flaws---have the ability and desire to create diverse communities (however imperfectly) and the wish to build bonds across species lines. In the Lore of Halo the Forerunners (the ancient beings that create much of the advanced technology in the Halo Universe) had a society built around what is called "The Mantle". Short for the "Mantle of Responsibility". A philosophical belief that advanced senient beings had a responsibility to protect and nurture the diversity of Life. In many Ways that is what The Traveler seems to represent...and what She seeks to defend. While that is CLOSE to what Humans tend to consider Absolute Goodness....it isn't QUITE that. But It is consistent with her actions. IMO, I think she kept leaving until she found a species to invest in who would SHARE the Mantle with her....instead of selfishly gaurd her gifts for themselves and those like themselves. ...and you see that in the Vanguard seeking to build a coalition of the Like-minded across species lines to fight the Darkness. ...and the fact that it was only when we stepped up to defend all life in the system (by destroying Ghaul and his plans to destroy the Sun) that She was willing to step up and directly intervene.

Also bungie it would be easy to make them Guardians. Just give them the existing classes and boom. No real change needed.
-
Then the Traveler should give the light to the hive. Since it let them suffer in a horrblie world and didn't make it into a garden world where the hive could enjoy life. The hive have suffered thanks to the travelers greed!!! Tax the rich!! Eat the rich.

Welcome to the club

1. He didn't see them as worthy of the light and left as the hive litteraly went after it. 2. The eliksni followed it, scavenged, pirated and raided each other becoming a nomadic people who aren't allies. 3. The fallen don't deserve the gift of the light. 4. The eliksni do deserve some acknowledgement... 5. The guardians were created due to desperation.

The relationship the Traveler has to the Eliksni is akin to our relationship with them during the golden age, not the relationship we have with them now. The Ghosts were made in desperation from the Traveler itself. It’s possible this can’t be replicated again; all of the ghosts in the world right now came from that moment, the Traveler isn’t still making Ghosts. (It’s worth noting that Savathûn’s Ghosts are almost definitely corrupted/resurrected through necromancy) That being said, I see absolutely no reason why any existing Ghosts couldn’t opt to resurrect a dead Eliksni. As a fan of the Eliksni myself, I’d love to see it!

The Gardner wasn’t in a coma until the Collapse, when it was wounded. As it fell comatose, it’s consciousness (or part of it) broke apart and became the Ghosts. The Winnower has never been asleep, at least since post-Fundament. You should read the Dreams of Alpha Lupi from D1. It’s relevant to the state of mind of the Gardner prior to its arrival in Sol. It seems from Unveiling that the Gardner has limited energy to spend. I would also look at the Red War, when it broke free and killed Ghaul, it’s shell broke. It’s very possible, given the implications the Winnower makes, that the Gardner never recovered from its fight against the Winnower in the Garden. Which would leave it weaker then the Winnower and less able to use it’s power
-
I think it is semi conscious like a coma but can communicate and travels around the universe avoiding darkness but that’s just a theory and comas are very serious sorry for using it in this analogy
-
Highly Doubt the Eliksni will be Playable characters. Them being Guardians......Yes I can see that.
-
Eramis, that you hiding behind a Bungie account?
-
Traveller / darkness... two sides of the same coin. My money is on both being controlled by "The entity " This is just a personal opinion, don't come at me lore nerds...

Edited by Spawn Of Apathy: 10/22/2021 2:09:56 PMI’m not sure immortality and super powers is the reparations I’d like to see given to a race that harbors great resentment towards humanity and the Traveler. Sure, not all of them, but it’s not like all humans chosen by Ghosts were always fine upstanding people. Not sure it’s worth the risk.

Edited by Guardian,Archon Of Light: 10/22/2021 10:54:26 AMI support the Eliksni alliance, but most of there suffering was brought on there self , the Traveler didn't make them come to earth and slaughter humans Imagine how much better things would be for them and us if they came in peace
-
Don’t give the fallen anything

<Despite Eliksni Lightbearers being a very plausible scenario within the next year, what makes you think you'll get to play as one?>
