Problem: Destiny 2 won't launch. Says it will launch but isn't pulling up and says in task manager that it's running as a background process. Happened right after their Halloween update.
Stuff I've already done: Restarted my computer, verified files, updated drivers, Uninstalled the game (including deleting all game AND Battleye files) and reinstalling it, making sure it's not in background apps in my Windows, updated BIOS, updated graphics software, updated AMD platform drivers, unplugged and replugged HDMI cable, moved game to different drive, setting compatibility mode, running as administrator, and disabling background apps in Windows.
Computer Hardware:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
GPU: Radeon RX 5500 XT
Some facts that might help: I can hear the Windows error noise when it fails, but no errors actually display. Also in task manager, Battleye's CPU usage goes down to 0 before Destiny's does. They originally use CPU, but it eventually goes down to 0 (according to task manager)
My dad, my friends, and I all have experience with computers and IT and we've done everything we can think of but we're out of options. I've looked at previous forums but the problems that are similar to mine all users have a Ryzen 3000 series CPU, I don't. It's so rare that I can't actually find solutions. Please help.
Fix: My error code was marmot. It sucked but I had to reinstall Steam in its entirety, including deleting all Steam and Destiny folders, and reinstalling them. It turns out that my Steam was stuck in the 2017 UI, which was weird. But once I reinstalled it and Destiny, the game ran no problem. I'll leave this up here so other players can see all the stuff I tried and maybe it'll help them.
